Hitting coach

I'd like to see a new hitting coach. Find us the next Kevin Long or Chris Valaika. It's a much cheaper option that risking big dough on B+ hitters. I know hitting coaches don't usually make a difference, but good ones do make a significant difference.

Eh, maybe Arnold will actually acquire hitters who aren't just homeruns and strikeouts. That will make a bigger difference.

they changed the coach last offseason, it didn't help. I think its a personnel / philosophy issue vs a coaching issue.

2021 Brewers came in 12th in R/G with a position player wRC+ of 98.

2022 Brewers came in 10th in R/G with a wRC+ of 103.

The coaching change was certainly no revelation, but the offense did perform slightly better in 2022.

Where are getting a 98 wRC+ in 2021? They're listed at 92 wRC+ on Fangraphs. Post Adames trade they were a 97 wRC+.

2022 was the best offense of the Stearns era and on par with the peak Braun and Fielder lineups by wRC+.

Position player is the keyword here.  You would have to remove pitchers from the equation in 2021.

He doesn't even need to acquire them. He's got Frelick and Turang, two elite contact and high BA/OBP hitters, sitting in the minors.
