I wonder if the shift was at least partially a cause.

No matter what his outcome, he was a good snag by the Brewers this year for a cash trade.  He already has 1.0 WAR on the season. I doubt he keeps up his 800 OPS or 121 OPS+ the whole season, but might as well ride him while he does.  

He slots into that Hernan Perez role pretty well. Maybe more value in his bat compared to Perez' value in his defense.  He is 26 this year and isn't arby eligible until 2025. 

A nice find and a local to boot!

Great snag and cheap next year. Can pencil him in to play 100 games at 3B and 30 games elsewhere next year.
