kind of what I expected. Reduce the price of beer 50 decent and brag about it.

My favorite quote is: "We don't want anybody to say they can't come to a Brewers game because of price," Rick Schlesinger, Brewers president of business operations, said at a Monday news conference.,

Which doesn't seem to acknowledge its still very expensive to take your family to a game.

People keep saying this and it it always so disingenuous. You can get 4 tickets to a Brewers game this weekend for $50. Honestly, probably less if you went offline and didn't have to pay fees. Anything you buy in the gate is a completely optional expense. They let you cook and drink in the parking lot and they have by FAR the most generous carry-in policy of any major sport.

Every time this comes up I just feel like people really need a reality check or are just complaining for the sake of complaining. The food isn't even good in the first place.

The avenues for attending a game for a VERY low cost are there. If people aren't willing to do that, they want a fancy seat, they want to buy dinner inside and have 2 beers, that's not on the Brewers, it's on them. A trip to the park has a massive variance in cost.

On the quality complaints, yeah, I think that's all valid. If they had one great sausage with fresh toppings I'd probably get it every time I went. Those sad things they are selling now, no, never.

I'm not surprised they get good feedback. All kinds of crappy fast food joints have lines out the door. It's probably just a situation where they could make it better but it's not worth the R&D because it's selling.

It's sad when you go to Oracle and get something literally called a Sheboygan that's better than anything at AmFam.

Most of the time the people that are talking about costs at the ballpark are bringing multiple people...likely kids. Most people can feed their child 10 hotdogs in the parking lots and guess what, they will want one inside anyway. They probably will want the ice cream that someone walks by with to. So then your options are to buy it or listen to your kid tell you how hungry they are for 3 hours. A family of five shouldn't have to spend $100+ for small meals that are probably on par with prison food.

People that are complaining about food prices don't want to tailgate.  The experience is different to everyone and we all have different things we want out of it. Many could not care less if the Brewers banned tailgating tomorrow, others would riot. Many wouldn't care if a hot dog inside was $15, but they sure would care if every grill in the parking was charged $25 to fire up.

I guess I'll bite my tongue on the 11th hot dog (I know it was hyperbole) but I'm pretty much always taking my young kids to the game and I've fed them a meal inside less than a handful of times. I keep seeing these 'expensive' comments and it just shocks me every time because a Brewers game to me has always been one of the more affordable family events. You have to do a little bit of planning but comparable things in the area are way more expensive. I just wonder how much some people get out and actually see the costs of other comparable things.

I can bring a pack of m&ms from Walmart inside and the kids are more than happy.

4-5 days ago, the Twins hosted their "Taste of the Twins" event, which is testing all the new items at Target Field. Half the stuff looks outstanding.

Me looking at this thread, American Family Field, and the Brewers afterward:

The full thread of this meme's origin is also gold. Pakistan love their cricket

Changing alchol sales through the 8th because games are moving faster seems shortsided. I know that is the policy for Wrigley, In theory though someone could buy a beer with 1 out left in the 8th, Devin shuts down the road team 1-2-3 in the 9th and now that fan has to slam it since they can't take it with them or hang out in the park until its gone.

People go chug their extra beer in the parking lot afterwards anyway. Might as well make money before they leave the stadium. It is a drunk driver exodus out of the parking lot regardless.

Yep - this is why we don't even tailgate or park in the lot anymore.  We park at a bar, grab one or two drinks and head on the shuttle.  Relatively easy in and way easier out.

On the note of food, the wife and I went to the Giannis Jersey game(it was packed) and the wife needed something to eat.  We settled on a regular hot dog, but there were other options with other stuff on them(looked new to me), anyway, we got one and it was surprisingly good.  I wont say I am a food snob, but I will readily admit when something is awful.  This plan dog was above average.  Alcohol was still expensive, but that's been like that forever.  I think we paid 11$ for a craft beer and then I paid 11$ for a Topo Chico seltzer drink.

This is Wisconsin. People enter the stadium drunk and get drunker as the game goes on. So none of this even matters.

"A team spokesman confirmed that the Brewers are reverting to the practice of beer sales through the seventh inning, undoing the change that was made to move that cutoff to the eighth inning at American Family Field. The maneuver aimed to address the potential loss of concession salesfrom a sped-up fan experience, with game times down considerably thanks to new on-field rules."
