How has Black looked defensively at 3rd?

Honestly, I haven't seen him take a single grounder. BUT, the opening series versus the Braves wasn't televised. Hopefully, we'll learn more this week!

Other than maybe Black and Moore, I can’t think of any positional prospects who are playing really well right now. A lot of guys slumping to start the season.

In Carolina, it's really been a 3B Luke Adams breakout party. Extremely small sample size but vindicating what I felt about him coming into this season. He's doing things he 'shouldn't' be doing in his limited affiliate exposure. Definitely a guy to keep tabs on.

OF Joe Gray Jr. has had a fantastic start to his High-A season making a case he is ready for a promotion. 3B Brian Metzinger has been fantastic as well. OF Je'Von Ward and INF Eduardo García have had runs of fantastic play but not as consistent as Metzinger and Gray Jr.

OF Lamar Sparks surprised early but has come back to Earth this past week some - what will this week bring? Keston HiuraEddie Alvarez, and Blake Perkins have all played very good baseball. Jon Singleton got hot in the Norfolk series.

All in all, there have been moments. The real issue going on across the system right now by my viewings is the exorbitant amount of mental errors - defensively and on the base paths. It's early but this really needs to tighten up. Throwing errors, fielding errors, base running errors. You name it and it's been very sloppy early in the season. And, thankfully, we have a full season and a full slate of games to make informed observations. Guys like Eric Brown Jr., Jackson Chourio, and Sal Frelick are all pressing and perhaps trying too hard. Chourio has had the better moments of the three, obviously, but he's still really struggled with plate discipline and is whiffing and swinging out of the zone too much. Frelick is clearly pressing. As is Brown Jr. These are blue chip guys. We'll have to see where we're at in three months time.

I was going to say, I can't even recall the ball being hit to him much if at all in the games this week.
