2023 Trade Deadline Sellers

Before the season started there were probably six to eight teams that looked like sure sellers at the deadline. Now that we’re a couple dozen games in we’ve got a little more clarity.

These are the teams who I’ll be paying a little closer attention to than their winning percentage and current BPro playoff odds warrant with an eye towards the deadline…

Likely Sellers
OAK (5-21 | 0%), KCR (6-20 | 0%), CHW (7-19 | 4%), COL (8-18 | 0%), WAS (9-15 | 0%), DET (9-15 | 0%), CIN (10-15 | 1%)

Probable Sellers
SFG (11-14 | 15%), SEA (11-14 | 17%), BOS (13-13 | 12%) MIA (13-13 | 20%)

Then there are the fast starters who the projections are going to need some more time to buy into completely before their playoff odds catch up with their current standings…

Giolito's last outing was sharp, and you wonder if White Sox might dangle Cease as well for a big return

Chapman seems to be going well, and undoubtedly some playoff team will take a look at him

Not quite sure about big name hitters on the block from these teams

As I have mentioned previously I would love to get Giolito.  Grandal hasn’t been as bad this year and he could be a good pickup just not sure where you play him.  Probably DH and a bench bat to replace Voit?

Bizarre. I'm guessing we all just read the same FanGraphs article on how bad the White Sox are, as I came here specifically to ask what Giolito would cost in a trade.

He's not some kind of world-beater. I would guess it would cost someone like Robert Moore and a couple of kids.

Given the injuries, and our defense a modest cost reliable starter would be a nice addition.

What a mess the White Sox are, they traded off all their stars, tanked for several years to rebuild a juggernaut and this is what they end up with?

Absent a huge turn around, Rick Hahn is probably getting fired.
