Cam Robinson's disastrous 2023 continues. He had a 6.75 ERA in AAA and was just pulled after only getting 1 out today with his AA ERA ballooning up to 7.94 with him also leaving an inherited runner on base.

Biloxi (Cam Robinson, Zach Vennaro) conceded 4 runs in that 7th inning, making it a tight 7-6 ballgame. Can Biloxi respond like Carolina did earlier?

I assume RHP James Meeker will be called upon to try to mail this down.

Instead, it’s the struggling Vennaro who continues in the 8th inning, hitting the first batter.

Sorry, not sorry - this is what I mean by the difference in managing styles - the sometimes excruciating balance between player development and playing to win.

Biloxi is just playing some really bad baseball right now. Runners on the corners with 1 out in the 7th. Valerio hits a line drive to RF that required an offbalanced shoe string catch from the RF and Sparks doesn't even feint a tag from 3B. The RF didn't even have to throw the ball to home plate.

After that runner ultimately scored to tie the game 7-7 in the bottom of the 8th inning on a RHP Robbie Baker wild pitch, both teams missed chances in the 9th inning and headed to extra innings.

Zavier Warren walked and Noah Campbell singled in the top of the 10th inning to score the Manfred Man and a second run. 9-7 Biloxi.

And now James Meeker has finally come into the game.

the brewers whole system been a bit disapointing

They went 3-1 today and have 3 teams above .500...how has the whole system been disappointing?

Pop out. K. Fly out. Baker gets the win, Meeker the save and Biloxi’s 7-game skid has mercifully ended. Go home gentlemen!

Should also be noted that Carolina has the youngest position players in their league with an average age of 19.8 vs 20.7 league average vs 22.5 for the oldest team in the league.

Same goes for Biloxi position players with an average age of 22.5 vs 23.8 league average vs 25.1 for the oldest team in the league.

Yeah here are the average age of position/pitcher groups relative to league average for all the Brewers minor league teams.

Carolina Position Players - 19.8 years old vs 20.9 league average (-1.1 years), 12th oldest out of 12

Carolina Pitchers - 21.6 years old vs 21.7 league average (-0.1 years), 7th oldest out of 12

Wisconsin Position Players - 22.0 years old vs 22.5 league average (-0.5 years), 10th oldest out of 12

Wisconsin Pitchers - 22.9 years old vs 23.3 league average (-0.4 years), 10th oldest out of 12

Biloxi Position Players - 22.5 years old vs 23.8 league average (-1.3 years), 8th oldest out of 8

Biloxi Pitchers - 24.3 years old vs 24.3 league average (0.0 years), 5th oldest out of 8

Nashville Position Players - 27.7 years old vs 26.6 league average (+1.1 years), 7th oldest out of 20

Nashville Pitchers - 28.0 years old vs 27.3 league average (+0.7 years), 4th oldest out of 20

Outside of Nashville, every single position/pitcher group is in the younger half of the league.

If we’re ranking the affiliates by box score excitement I’d go…

01 Biloxi: Quero, Black, Rodriguez, Jarvis and Zamora all putting up strong seasons. Chourio holding his own with an aggressive placement. Meeker, Baker and Chirino off to solid starts in the pen. Noah Campbell making a case for more consideration.

02 Carolina: Guilarte, Lara and Adams all performing well as teenagers on the position player side. Misiorowski the headliner, but guys like Vallecillo, Aquino, Rudy, Shears have shown varying degrees of intrigue on the pitching side too.

03 Wisconsin: Wood just promoted & Brown Jr heating up about it on the offense side. Recently promoted Jimenez not missing a beat with Lazar, Woessner, Brady and Jordan also showing some promise on the mound.

04 Nashville: Probably the most disappointing between Sal’s injury, Gasser’s control problems and now Hiura’s injury, but Eddy Alvarez is a fun story I guess? Pitching is thin on SP but offers a plethora of relief options though with Andrews, Small, Thompson, Vieira and Miller leading candidates to cycle through the last couple bullpen spots over the course of the season.

Yeah I would agree. When I stream the games I have Biloxi/Nashville on one side of the screen with both muted. On the other side of the screen I have Wisconsin/Carolina and whichever stream I don't have on the screen at the moment is playing the audio.

I'll pretty much only tun into the Sounds games when Gasser/the potential MLB relievers pitch.

We'll see how things go throughout the season, but Quero's current HR pace is good for any 20 year old let alone a catcher. Even playing a reduced schedule fitting a catcher he is up to a 30 HR pace.
