I will say one thing that will get me killed.     Those rhymes aren’t actually too bad for coming up with something every day

it breaks up the monotony of me complaining about our starters or others whining about balls and strikes that are off a centimeter

bit one a day is enough.  😀😀

Reds promote young lefty to make his debut against Brewers tomorrow

https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/06/reds-to-select-andrew-abbott.html

Andrew Abbott, a college LHP, was drafted 53rd overall in the 2021 draft. Brewers drafted Russell Smith, a college LHP, 51st overall.

Smith currently has a 6.75 ERA in AA and doesn't look like a guy who will ever pitch in the MLB while Abbott is making his MLB debut tomorrow. That's kind of a bummer.

He’s pitched 5 innings in AA……good K numbers……maybe we should wait just a bit before writing him off…….

Can definitely tell you've never watched Russell Smith pitch.

This dude is going to be a full time starter.    No real room for urias unless he beats out Adames

I would think all of Toro, Brusseau, Perkins and Singleton will go before Urias "doesn't have a spot" and this is if we ignore all historical data.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

Certainly not as much as you have……and I haven’t been impressed when I have……I just am reluctant to write off guys who haven’t even pitched 100 innings of pro ball as of yet.

You could very well be right……I’m just try to be patient with young pitchers who are trying to figure it out.

Anyway……back to the game!

Smith certainly could make the MLB but to this point he's shown no signs of improvement since being drafted that would lead me to believe it's likely or even realistic.

He just reminds me of Ethan Small but with worse stuff.
