Super-Utility man, Wes Clarke strikes out on an inside hook curve in an 0-2 count. The Shuckers leave two men stranded. We're on to the 2nd inning. Shuckers still trail 1-0.

Misiorowski got a beneficial strike 3 call (after weeks of blown calls, honestly) and is suddenly cooking. He gets another on a beautiful breaking ball. 3 K now. And he starts the next batter with another off-speed breaker on the outer stripe for strike 1.

You watch Chattanooga, and it's obviously early, but the AB's and the execution and the confidence are just beyond where the Shuckers currently are. This is, quite simply, a better baseball team at present. They have executed two very skillful bunts to advance runners. They are finding hits. Putting in quality AB's. If I were a Reds fan, at present, I'd be very excited by what I'd be seeing.

Meanwhile, INF Tyler Black makes a fantastic play at 3B and takes away a run with a nice back-handed scoop. A calm collection of the ball. Assess. Throw the ball home well in time for Quero to apply the tag. Very nice work, Tyler! Men on 1st and 2nd with one down.

Misiorowski gets the sky high infield pop up to Ernesto Martinez Jr. at 1B and gets out of the inning. Meanwhile, in Biloxi, RHP Jason Alexander is now routinely getting tagged. He just gave up a deep line drive double to the LF wall. 2-0 Lookouts. Men on 2nd and 3rd. One down.

Another knock to LF is pushed to a two-bagger after Lutz bobbles the scoop. That was on an inside curve that found too much of the plate. 4-0 Lookouts.

Nice to see RHP Logan Henderson throw a clean first inning after his rough outing his last time out on the road. Good stuff, young man. A ground out, a fly out to RF, and an infield pop-up to 2B.

A throwing error, a wild pitch, and. JeVon Ward single up the middle past a diving shortstop and the T-Rats are suddenly up 3-0 here in the bottom of the 2nd.

INF Jadher Areinamo just made about as good a diving grab and tag as you can make at 2B on an attempted steal. He made that look easy. That was not an easy play by any measure. Wow. A big play to help RHP Logan Henderson who saw a run cross on consecutive RF singles. He escapes without further damage, however, with 2 K to close the inning.

RHP Jason Alexander has had runners on base every inning of this 'rehab' outing. This outing is looking quite a bit like LHP Eric Lauer's outings in Nashville. Lots of contact - some hard some flukey. But, just too many runners on base overall. 5-1 Lookouts after 3 IP.

INF Luke Adams, when he squares it up, boy he can rip those balls. 110 mph liner up the middle nearly takes the threads off the baseball. To no import, however, as he is picked off 1B caught leaning and then in a run-down.

Another multi-hit game for INF Tyler Black who ropes a liner to deep LF for a single. Stud.

Meanwhile, RHP Logan Henderson was robbed of a K on a glorious tailing heater that caught the lower half. If I had a nickel for every time a blown strike call featured a motionless umpire in 2023, I'd have a couple bucks. No worry, he gets the groundout to 2B.

This pitch was called ball 3. You tell me, folks. I see stuff like this on a near nightly basis. Just because the catcher sets up inside does not negate this glorious strike three. My baseball gods, give me strength. That's easily a 3" inside the strip rocket.

Bless Misiorowski's heart, he asks for the count knowing full well he already struck that batter out and comes back with a ripping slider on the lower outer half. That pitch was not fair. He gets the K. Two down.

Boy, aside from a three-single hiccup in the 2nd inning, Henderson has been filthy. Just filthy. I continue to just LOVE this young man's stuff. He's really working his change-up tonight to good effect. BUT, he can drop that heater down into an outward tailing two-seamer type to lefties. He continues to have one of the higher-riding heaters in the organization. I just love this young man's toolkit. I see a bright Brewers future if he can just stay healthy. So much to love when he is in form on the hill. 4 IP, 3 H, 0 BB, 1 ER, 6 K and a low-50s pitch count is just Ace stuff.

I'm not a biomechanics expert by any means but the one thing that worries me is that it looks like he's gonna have elbow trouble at some point.

Anybody throwing that hard is eventually going to have elbow trouble at some point...whether that's in two weeks or two decades or somewhere in between is the tricky part to sort out.

Misiorowski has MLB top of the rotation stuff, but needs consistency in his mechanics to harness the command to become a true Ace.  He's light years ahead of where he was coming out of college, which is a great sign in his development.  If he looked anything like he does right now last June, he'd have been a top 5 draft pick in last year's draft.

Tyler Black. Ladies and Gentlemen. 3 Hit night. He just smashed a rocket to deep left center. 9th ding dong. 99 mph off the lumber. 414 distance. I just love love LOVE this man's game. He has all 3 of the Shuckers only 3 hits. For your viewing pleasure:

Chourio hasn’t done a whole lot since his big game a week ago. Tyler Black on the other hand is on fire!

Can Black play 3B at MLB level?

I am just going to say this again:

I hear of INF Freddy Zamora's plus defense. I have yet to see it. On a weekly basis, I see a very inconsistent glove and arm that has a reputation that precedes its actual production in the Minor Leagues. He misfired another throw to 1B earlier and now he lets a groundball eat him up when he could have gotten his well-performing pitcher LHP Russ Smith closer to an inning's exit. One batter later and a hard chopper eats up Tyler Black. That run belongs to Zamora in my book. Just a bummer. Shuckers trail 6-3.
