RHP Jacob Misiorowski (2.04 ERA, 0.81 WHIP, 13.8 K/9 in 39.2 IP) makes his second home start of the week against Lansing, with the High-A Timber Rattlers needing a win for a 3-3 series tie. DH/C Darrien Miller has been solid over his last 33 games (.827 OPS in 141 PAs).

CF Sal Frelick is back atop AAA Nashville’s lineup after a Thursday injury scare, as the team must defeat Norfolk at home to forge a 3-3 series tie. RHP Jason Alexander is on the hill for his 4th minor league rehab appearance.

How has Alexander pitched in his previous three outings?

Sadly, he may be needed in Milwaukee later in the season.

Not good. Not good at all.

Quite badly actually, including 5 runs on 8 hits in 3 innings for Biloxi last week. I believe he’s only in Nashville for this rehab start because they’re down to 4 starting pitchers.

Gasser’s probably a better bet to play for the Brewers this year than Alexander is.

I second this notion. He got absolutely knocked around in that tacky Southern League showing. A few seeing eye hits early and then several deep liners. It was as they say in the DSL: '¡No Bueno!'

So RHP Logan Henderson was pulled after a scoreless 1 IP - 16 pitches. Does anyone have eyes on that?

RHP Quinton Low came on and walked 4 and gave up a 3-spot.

Logan Henderson exited after one inning and 16 pitches for the Mudcats, but I’m not willing to press the panic button yet as he pitched 5 days ago. Fingers crossed that this was a planned short outing. Carolina trails 3-0 in the 4th inning.

This is all we have - an uncharacteristically flat heater belt high and a likely blown out call at home plate - Lipscomb looked safe to me. Henderson appears to look toward the dugout here. I am going to check in to the end of that inning to see if there was any heads up.

His inning ended after a nasty change-up to a lefty. Looked to have maybe 20" of vertical dip and probably 12-14" horizontal. Yowza. Regardless, it does indeed look like simply a planned inning today. That's what I am going with, at least.

This is the worst home record for the Mudcats at Home (13-19 coming into today's match-up) since their 2013-2014 season. There is no proverbial home cooking for these young men. They are searching for the kitchen. Low came on and walked batter numero uno on four pitches. It was that way from the get go.

Low actually came on and threw 8 consecutive balls. And, they weren't even close. This is the rustiest and most inaccurate I've seen him in 2023. One of those outings.

Hard not to he excited about the possible bullpen pipeline of LHP's Clayton Andrews and Darrell Thompson and a certain RHP named Abner Uribe

Speaking of bullpen arms, I absolutely love how manager Joe Ayrault has started using RHP Brannon Jordan as his Ace up the Sleeve for literally any scenario. He'll use him in the 8th frame. he'll use him to shutdown a threat in the 3rd inning as he did today to rescue Misiorowski in a 4 H, 4 BB outing (still managed 5 K). Brannon escapes the threat and goes 2 1/3 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 4 K notching a 'Win' in his belt. He has been one of the most pleasantly surprising performers in the entire system through the first half of the 2023 season.

Pretty sure we just had a brawl in Nashville after 2 HBPs in one frame.

Watching it now. And, oh yes Sir, there was a bench clearer. Remember this: Dorrian played for the Tides last year. He took a screamer directly above his elbow - there was a discernible pop on his elbow there. He was ticked as you can imagine. He didn't charge the mound. BUT he definitely had words. The Tides' lefty (Hernandez) came at Dorrian and then Mr. Muscles C Payton Henry came sprinting in. You know Henry won't back down from anyone. So, Henry and Dorrian tossed. Hernandez tossed. The crowd was quite into it. Little chippy Sunday afternoon baby.

Was silly of Dorrian to act that way. The bases were loaded and it was a 1-2 count. It was clearly accidental, but Dorrian for some reason decided to make a scene about it.

AA Biloxi can win their home series 4-2 with a win over Chattanooga tonight. RHP Christian Mejias (5.73 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, 11.5 K/9 in 59.2 IP) gets the start. C Jeferson Quero has walked in 8 straight games.

Yeah, it certainly was a Moon Shot. Over the lights for crying out loud. Yowza:
