Hey guys. Longtime stalker, first time poster. Diehard Cub fan here and I was looking at the remaining schedules for both teams, crunching the numbers a bit and unfortunately for us, unless we see a Brewers collapse, I think you guys will have the division clinched before we go head to head for the final series of the year.  If this does come to pass The Brewers may find themselves in a position to somewhat chose who they face in the first round. Losing to the Cubs could send us to Philadelphia, where as beating the Cubs could make them your first round opponents. My question for you guys is what do you believe the Brewers would do in this situation, take advantage of this to try to get a more favorable opponent, or will they not worry about who they face and worry more about resting players to prepare for the post season?

If things are wrapped up by that last series, I think the Brewers first priority will be resting guys for the postseason.

Second priority would be making sure we don't face the Cubs in the Wild Card round because it would eliminate some degree of the home field advantage.

With the Cubs holding a 2.5 game lead on that second Wild Card as of now, it looks like a pretty safe bet that MIL, CHI and PHI will be 3/4/5 in some order with SFG, ARI, CIN and MIA battling it out for that final spot.

Hey, thanks for posting here. That takes a lot of courage. I've had really good experiences at Wrigley talking to knowledgeable Cubs fans in the stands, and I really enjoy the ballpark and the food. Dare I say it's better than ours :)

Man I hope we can have it locked up by then. Miller Park will be very blue and red if it isn't. It will be like a playoff atmosphere, almost like game 163 in 2018 was but for 3 games! Pretty cool to think of, but I want it locked up by then.

Remember 2 years ago didn't we get homefield for the entire playoffs, lockup the division a couple weeks early? And we rested guys, sat guys, lined up the rotation...and we lost a lot of games down the stretch...and then choked against the Braves. So it's sort of a double edged sword resting guys, and not letting them get too cold. Gonna be fun to watch!

I think the biggest advantage will be if we're able to rest the bullpen. I agree, you don't want to take a week off or anything, but if we can just throw Chafin out there 3 days in a row or whatever, that'll be nice.

I'm banking on us sweeping you guys and knocking you out of the playoffs

If the Brewers don't win the division I should be banned. However, they will.
