I personally hate Marquette and have zero interest in ever rooting for them, but that's just because I'm a UW Alum and proud season ticket-holder lol.

That’s how it should be. I’m not a fan of people (especially alumi) that cheer for both. It’s no fun if you are happy no matter how the first Saturday in December ends up.

I'm not happy losing to Marquette...don't get it twisted, but once March comes, I'm pulling for Marquette...after Wisconsin obviously.

I just...never got into the whole UW-Marquette thing.

Going to MSOE (i.e. the other-other downtown Milwaukee college), I picked UW as my school to cheer for.  Kind of an anti-Marquette vibe at MSOE too being a mile away from each other. 

But I can't say I've seen much of a rivalry between them and UW either.  Just mainly that one game a year, which you do have to pick one team.  But I don't have an issue cheering for them in the tourney.  It was fun when Marquette, UW, and UWGB (or occasionally UW-Mil) were all in the tourney.

It kind of had that rivalry feel in the Marquette's Crean years, because of the way they played and also his general demeanor.  I know I couldn't stand them. I'm pretty sure Krabbenhoft never appreciated them much either.

I mean, I usually cheer for Big 12 teams in the tourney. There is a lot of pride in how good your conference is and them showing up in March. Either to prove you were actually that good or prove the experts wrong. How many teams you got in and how far they go is a pretty big deal in March Madness.

Even come Final Four or the Championship, I am usually cheering for my conferences team.

Agreed, with the exception of Ohio State and Michigan.  I never, ever root for them in any way.

The only other Big Ten team I will root for is Michigan State in basketball everyone else I don’t care about and will never root for them.

Izzo is my favorite head coach in basketball and if they are not playing UW or Marquette I will root for them.
