I really can’t yet, we’re still working on it and until we feel like something more substantial is forming, we don’t want to start rumor-mongering things that end up being untrue.

I can say that the Brewers are talking to teams specifically about Burnes but nothing appears close at this time.

I’m not the person with the info, various members of our group chase this stuff down and share it.

An update I’m hearing is that there’s zero urgency on anything right now and I’d be surprised if anything materializes before 2024.

Which is understandable, the urgency won't come until a couple dominoes fall. And with how this off-season is dragging out with Ohtani and now Yamamoto, definitely feels it'll be until the first couple weeks of January when any real traction will happen with FAs and the trade market.

A big giant no thank you to Prielipp.  If Polanco is the marquee player in a Burnes trade, I'm keeping him.

Polanco is just hurt way too much for my liking.

I don't think that trade makes sense for the Brewers. Brewers will not be contending if we don't get MLB ready pitching back for Burnes, so getting Polanco a short term piece back in this trade doesn't make any sense.

Festa is intriguing, but Polanco is old, expensive, injury prone and bad at defense. 3/30 for a 30 year old 2B projected at maybe 5 or 6 WAR over the next 3 years just doesn't really interest me at all in return for Burnes.

Prielipp sounds like a reliever and has 6.2 professional innings heading into his age 23 season.

If this is the best offer the Brewers have I would hope they just hold Corbin.

Polanco is old and moderately expensive but if you can get 120+ games out of him, I *really* like him near the top of the Brewers lineup as a stabilizing force around Yelich. He's "pretty good" at everything offensively, something that the lineup badly needs.

If anything, I like this trade quite a bit for the Brewers. If they're targeting Festa and particularly Prielipp, I probably make this trade. I like this trade less for the Twins, as Prielipp is a pretty big loss IF he gets healthy (always a risk).

But the stuff I said earlier in this thread? It's not entirely unrelated to this link, hint hint.

I guess my general thinking behind it is "if the Brewers see something in multiple pitchers, they should probably just make that trade". The Twins are increasingly good with a pitching pipeline but I have more faith in the Brewers' ability to identify something they like in a young pitcher and make the most of it.

Take out Polanco and give me Brooks Lee. I do love Festa, who I think has real mid rotation potential, but he's not really a prospect headliner for Burnes. I'd consider that deal depending on what offers we potentially get from Dodgers, Rangers, etc. 

Polanco has little use for a retooling Brewers team, which is what you're committing to if you're trading Burnes.

Burnes wouldn’t get Lee in a straight-up trade.

I’ve said for a long time that Brewers fans are going to be disappointed with the Burnes return. He’s not going to net a top 50 prospect in the upper minors, which Lee is.

That doesn’t mean the Brewers shouldn’t trade Burnes, though. They’re going to need good players in 2026, too.

This is also part of the reason why I was clamoring for the Brewers to trade one of the big three last offseason. Now look where we are.

But just stating my own opinion, I think Burnes + Wiemer for Lee + something is really interesting for both sides.

Then, I wouldn't trade Burnes to the Twins. You have the Brewers getting zero top 100 prospects for Burnes, which doesn't make sense when Scherzer and Verlander even at their salaries did.  Polanco does nothing for a retooling Brewers team.

I would  think that the rangers who  will be without  max scherze and degrom for the 1st half in a competive division  would not want a 1yr corbin burnes.  They have 4 or 5 starting pitchers in the mid minors.  Ie brock porter, Jack leiter, Owen white, Josh stephan.  Seems like a good match.  Could also dangle and outfielder to sweeten the package.

I don’t like Mitchell much - a personal opinion - but Burnes and Wiemer for that trio is interesting. Losing those two pitchers will be hard for the Twins to stomach, I suspect.

I think I might do that. Though, I prefer Lee to Julien as I personally think Lee will stick at SS.

I'd love a Walcott, Porter, Rocker package from the Rangers. That might be my favorite deal other than the Dodgers giving us Sheehan in a Burnes/Adames deal. 

A lot of risk with Walcott being a teenager in the low minors and Rocker recovering from TJ, but a potential big-time, premium talent payoff.

I know...fresh off a division title and lost in the playoffs to the team who got to the WS from the NL...just in bad shape

I didn’t say bad shape. Burnes is now a year from free agency, Adames had a down year, and Woodruff is lost. This doesn’t happen to the Rays.
