Pretty good analysis. JL had defensive linemen that could either make plays, or at the very least be good enough to occupy blockers. Thompson was a big loss. But I'm encouraged by flashes Hills has shown the last two games.

It's hard for me to compare who is better AFA scheming is concerned because it won't work either way if you're out of position, over-pursue, etc & there's a lot of this going on. Now, maybe THAT can be put on the coaches. I feel there's a lot of emphasis under this staff of athleticism, making plays, speed. Perhaps being more assignment-sure is a bit more important? I loved the way Leonhard coached the defense, But Tressel deserves to have some leash remaining.

I feel they made some strides last week against a QB & group of receivers the likes of which I doubt they will see from here on out. And there was some semblance of pressure compared to the previous weeks. They certainly ARE on the field too long, and yes much of that is on the offense.

Not to get biblical, but if they struggle tomorrow, hoo boy, there will be wailing & gnashing of teeth among the fan base.

If they lose to at home to a terrible Purdue team they should immediately be emptying out their offices.

The WR’s this year have been really impressive.  If only the Badgers had a QB who could get them the ball to them consistently.  Locke is not that QB.

The Oline also has improved a bit this year.  The RB’s are good and the TE’s are good.

The team’s two biggest problems are the Dline and QB.  Fix those two issues and I believe this team could be good again.

Pass should have been caught but WTH Locke.  That was an absolutely horrendous throw.  The pass wouldn’t have been enough for a 1st down.  He didn’t even have to throw low on that play.  If he leads the receiver instead of throwing low it is a possible 1st down.

Adding the fact that he can't run a lick and I can't really see a downside to having one of the young guys taking snaps.

Locke needs to be benched he is the worst QB ever in Badgers history.

He might not be the worst ever but yes he definitely needs to be on the pine.

Not sure what they were thinking there but it somehow worked.

Locke had an easy TD pass but lofted the ball a bit too much.  If he hits the WR in stride that is about as easy as it gets of a throw.

About the only defense I can make is right now it's blowing at about 30 mph outside my building right now West of Madison.

Kekahuna looks good.  Very undersized for a WR but he looks like he can run routes good and is extremely smart in finding holes in a zone.  Looks promising going forward.

Locke has all of a sudden thrown some nice balls.

Yes but he is so inconsistent.

While I have no illusions about Purdue being even remotely good it's still nice to look dominating.

Purdue is just absolutely awful.  I would take their QB though.

Very true. I am just grasping for something positive. We have to ride with this QB the rest of the year

Last year, the Badgers "should have" dominated and would only win by a touchdown or two.  This blowout outcome was good to see.

I don't know what to take out of the Rutgers / Nebraska game.  Nebraska's run defense seems tough.  We'll find out about Rutgers next week.
