We all know the Brewers are a mid-market team on the best of days. That being said, the Brewers successes, especially in the regular season over the last 6 years, is that much more impressive. As a team that can't afford to go out and land the biggest of fish in free agency (or to keep the guys they turn into stars) they rely on their farm system, how they develop players there, and how they're brought into The Show.  It's hard not to feel at times that if the Brewers had even 75% of the payroll of the likes of the NYY, Houston, LAD, San Diego, etc, that they'd be a dynasty and put those teams to shame. If you look back on the past 6 years, how can one not think that had the Brewers had their existing team but also could afford to keep Hader (and more recently, Burnes) and add a superstar in free agency, that they wouldn't have won at least a couple of World Series over that span?

There isn't a point I'm trying to make here other than I think the Brewers system as a whole deserves all the credit in the world.  That, and imagine what this team would be if the MLB had a salary cap.

They've been a top ranked farm system for a couple years so I'd say they're starting to get the recognition

I think in general there is this prevailing sentiment by posters here that the Brewers can't develop hitting....and prior to that the sentiment was that the Brewers can't develop pitching, which has proven to be false.

I think the organization currently has a mix of young mlb players and prospects in the low minors to address the offensive deficiency argument over the next few seasons.

Overall, I don't think the Brewers have ever been in a better spot in terms of producing a steady stream of homegrown talent.

Brewers have started 17-10 against one of the better schedules to date in MLB.

I thought that I've matured past the frustration of being the Rodney Dangerfield of baseball, but how is it this fanbase can't jump on board this bandwagon?

Almost every thread here at Brewerfanatic is filled with nothing but doubt and consternation.

Again, they've got a .630 winning percentage. And many of us, including myself, were predicting a losing record in April! And that was BEFORE the injuries.

Maybe we need to recognize that this organization belongs in the conversation for best-run franchises in baseball.

I don't think they have. Last year, halfway through the year, they were regarded by some as high as #2, but before that, I don't recall them being in the top half of the rankings since Brinson.

Yes...strongly agree with everything you said...and I think things are only improving. This team looks better, the future looks brighter, more stars coming...last years draft could become a springboard for the future(though...they looked pretty good before that).

I agree after we got rid of David Stearns. Thank God we have Pat Murphy now also he was the right choice for sure and I back him 100% and his decisions.
