LHP Aaron Ashby (9.28 ERA in 10.2 IP) gets a chance to show us what he’s capable of when getting a full 7 days between starts. AAA Nashville needs a solid outing to avoid a 3-0 series deficit at Louisville. By my count, SS Andruw Monasterio has a 30-game on-base streak in AAA ball.

So MiLB.com had Letson listed as the SP today for most of the week. Now Jesus Rivero is listed as the SP and Letson isn't listed for the rest of the series. Hopefully Letson is just second half of the piggy back this week. Birchard already went down with an injury. Don't want to see it happen to another young ranked pitcher.

22-year old RHP Will Rudy (6.23 ERA in 8.2 IP) makes his 3rd start as High-A Wisconsin aims to grab a 2-1 series lead in Peoria. C Matt Wood (1.036 OPS in 39 PAs) has carried over last year’s excellent eye (73 BB / 68 K in 2023; 7 BB / 4 K in 2024).

AA Biloxi needs another excellent start from 24-year old RHP Tyler Woessner (1.80 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, 12.6 K/9 in 15 IP) to avoid a 3-0 series deficit at Pensacola. C Darrien Miller has a 5-game hitting streak.

Knoth is tomorrow. He's just been pitching on Friday's. Looks like Saturday is Galindez.

20-year old RHP Jesus Rivero (3.00 ERA in 39 IP last year; 3.27 ERA in 11 IP this year) continues to put up solid numbers for Low-A Carolina, which leads Salem 2-0 in this week’s home series. 2B Juan Baez has reached via hit, BB or HBP in each of his 16 games.

Do they contemplate sending Ashby to AA or would they just send him to the complex league to work on stuff? Can't be good for a guys confidence to struggle this much in AAA.

AA wouldn't be much different.
They shouldn't have let him come out for the 4th.  95 pitches, 9 outs. Are they trying to mess with his health?  High pitch innings are worse than the same number of pitches spread out over more innings.

Carolina trailing 3-1 after six.

Yophery doubled home Miguel Briceno (who had walked) for the lone run.

Cooper Pratt, Tayden Hall, Daniel Guilarte, and Kay-Lan Nicasia have each singled so far.

Jesus Rivero K’d six over 4.1 IP but also gave up a three run bomb.

Jeferson Figueroa K’d five of the seven batters he faced (1 H | 1 BB) while Morris Austin just wrapped up a 1-2-3 seventh with 2 Ks.

They 'should'. I've been calling for this since he returned last year. At a certain point, the organization needs to get honest with what he needs. He is not right and we all see it and it isn't his fault. This is a process and, again imho, they leap frogged the very first one.

Biloxi trailing 4-2 at the stretch.

In addition to the two Boeve triples there has been a Zavier Warren bomb, an Ernesto Martinez double and a Darrien Miller RBI single.

Tyler Woessner racked up eight strikeouts over 5.1 IP, but also surrendered all four runs (three earned).

Shane Smith K’d the last two batters bottom of six in relief of Woessner and has given up a lead off double to open bottom of seven.

Lots of strike outs looking in Carolina tonight. The camera angle isn't very good, but a lot of the hitters did not look pleased at the strike 3 calls on both teams. Yophery in particular looks like he had to bite his tongue.

Nashville down 9-3 top of eight.

Bright spots have been Eric Haase at 2-3 with a double and two RBI. Kevin Herget threw three scoreless with 1 H | 2 BB | 4 K.

Box also has Tyler Black with an error, his 4th of the young season.
