I notice that the Arizona Complex season will run from May to July this year, which means that those drafted this year will not play there.

So,  where will, especially the high school and JC players play after being drafted.   I could see college players go to Carolina for the last 2 months , but the young ones won't.

Any insight as to the plan?

Clubs will continue playing games against each other unofficially in August, sort of an Extended Summer/ACL League similar to the Extended Spring Training which was just quietly happening in April.

If we’re fortunate (I doubt it for the first 2 years or so), @BrewersPD will share video snippets from time to time.

Ehh,  that's a bummer,  I always look forward to seeing actual official stats from our newest draft class each year.

It will really only affect high school hitters among top prospects. The college hitters, at least the top prospects, would get moved up quickly anyway, and the high school pitchers haven’t thrown much in rookie ball since all the changes were introduced. Even the college pitchers usually only threw 2-4 innings in complex league ball total.

Yeah, but teams had already started delaying pitcher debuts or barely playing most drafted pitchers.

The shift to an earlier ACL season will now accelerate stateside debuts for playing coming over from the Dominican Summer League as well as organizational debuts for most drafted high school pitchers.

With the 165-player MILB cap (excluding minor leaguers on long-term injury or MLB 40-man roster), we’ll likely see system-wide cuts in late July / early August to fit draftees within the max player limit, which is easier to do with the ACL season already completed.

I think we’ll see also see system-wide promotions at that point to re-complete full season affiliate rosters for the final 5-7 weeks.

Finally, it’s possible that a number of undrafted players may struggle to find landing spots in July/August, instead signing in October after roster spots open up with free agency.
