the Frelick Miscue is the one that has to be made

Yes … 100% agree on Frelick error

Does Pappa Murphy consequence his “kids” for such blatant errors?

We need a Nashville shuttle for position players similar to the one we have for pitchers.

We are supposedly an excellent defensive team, but we have given away a few games already with “blow up” innings.

Viera in this spot is silly.

I'm not a fan of Murphy's strategic moves. His handling of the bullpen has been pretty weird.

Murphy has been terrible in game management

Counsell was extremely good

This concerns me greatly

Vieira has struggled recently. Unfortunately can't be optioned so he'll get a longer leash but if he can't get it together in the next few games he'll be DFA'd. 7 ER over his last 8.1 IP

I do have to say that I disagree with the minor league system being underwhelming. Chuorio has been fine. Perkins good. Turang has been excellent. All-Star level. Frelick, okay, maybe you want him to be better, but he's not been terrible. Black has really struggled in a very small sample.

Yelich's injury, combined with Hoskins and Adames not being monster run producers, has been the culprit on the offensive side.

I'm most frustrated because we probably should have had at least one of these last four losses (assuming we continue to be unable to flip the script in the 8th and 9th innings). That said, I still think we're in a better spot than I'd imagined we'd be. This division still isn't very good. We're still not full strength. I mean, if we're 8 games over at Memorial Day, that's right where you want to be.

Yeah, I don't see it with him. Of course, not sure there are a lot of other options either, and he's probably the last guy out of the bullpen. But no excuse for him seeing an inning in a 1- or 2-run game in the 7th.

I'll be happy if we are one game over .500 at memorial Day.

I could see this streak turning into a 10 gamer.

Chourio- Class of his own lets wait and see. Agreed on Turang. Remember Perkins was signed to a Major league deal last offseason out of the Yankees, who had signed him to a minor league deal out of the Royals. In no way a product of our farm. Black- Wait and see. Mitchell- Unsustainable BABIP an K% and cant stay on the field. Wiemer- Can't hit for now. Frelick- Is looking like a 4th OF.

The cubs should win this division.   They really don’t have an excuse

it get boring with the modern athlete always hurt.   In all sports.

Murphy's substitutions are infuriating.  He manages a ball club like Joe Morgan would have, any young guy is getting PH by any veteran late, regardless of the quality of the veteran. He puts zero faith in young players.

Regardless of what Dunn does here, I stand by that statement.

Dunn has done nothing this year or in his career to have earned that AB. I'm tired of seeing the #2 prospect in baseball get regularly pinch hit for by replacement level journeymen. Infuriating.

They will. It's one of the weaker divisions in baseball right now.

All you have to know is these prospects keep getting pinch hit for with minor league free agents.

Dunn for Chourio keeps my point. If they thought these guys were good they wouldn't be subbing them. Imagine the Braves pinch hitting for Acuna or Freeman when they came up. If the Gm was smart he would say no more pinch hitting for these five guys. We need to let them learn.
