Sadly DSL Brewers 1 lost another one today. Winning 3-1 heading into the bottom of the 7th in a 7 inning affair and we had a blown save and ended up losing 4-5 in the 8th inning.

The High-A Timber Rattlers look to even their home series against Peoria 1-1. LHP Brian Fitzpatrick has been solid over his last 6 outings (1.27 ERA with 30 Ks in 21.1 IP). C Ramon Rodriguez has been hot at the dish (.910 OPS over last 90 PAs).

Nice little bounce back performance through 7 1/2 innings for the T-Rats. Fitzpatrick continues to answer the call impeccably in 2024. Lara appears to have knocked his third HR of his season to boot. 7-2 lead bottom of the 8th.

In addition to the aforementioned Lara bomb, Jadher Areinamo notched a trio of singles and Jheremy Vargas filled up the box with a single, double, stolen bag and two RBI.

Tyler Bryant made it five for five on scoreless appearances since joining Wisco adding two more strikeouts to his ledger in a perfect ninth inning. He has only been credited with earned runs in one of his 14 appearances since joining the Brewers org out of the Independent ranks.

Sounds have K'd twice to open game 2 vs the Bulls. The Bulls' lefty has come out and gotten seven swings and misses in 2/3 IP. They clearly aren't picking up the 3/4 arm spot or the action of the ball. Clarke follwed suit with three swings and misses on three straight 93 mph heaters. 8 swings and misses in one inning. Ugly ugly stuff. Collins and Capra went down on low off-speed deliveries. Clarke goes down on three straight heaters.

AAA Nashville and Durham are underway with the Sounds needing a road win to even the series. RHP Chad Patrick looks to continue his dominating season (2.83 ERA, 11-1 record). DH Wes Clarke has a 6-game hitting streak.

2023 4th round pick RHP Jason Woodward makes his full season affiliate debut with Low-A Carolina, which is aiming for a 2-0 series lead at Delmarva. And the team also welcomes promising 2B Josh Adamczewski (.975 OPS in ACL/Low-A 174 PAs) back from a recent injury.

Patrick is approaching a pitch count in the 20's here early. He's pitching well but the Bulls batters are simply putting together really solid AB's. Hopefully, the Sounds batters are paying attention. Two down. Man on first after a reach poke single into CF.

1B Ernesto Martinez Jr. returns to AA Biloxi’s lineup after being absent for 2 games and I guarantee you they won’t score fewer runs than yesterday. RHP Tyler Woessner makes his first start since mid-June. He pitched 3 days ago, so expect a relatively short stint as they host Mississippi.

The Bulls bats have fouled off 8 two-strike pitches so far in 24 first inning pitches. 0-2 count. Runner on first. Catches the runner leaving first. Has him dead to rights. Runs at the runner. AND, airmails a casual toss into the CF grass. My goodness. Why is there so much pain the Brewers org right now? He then gives up an RBI single on an 0-2 single to right CF on an elevated dead center heater. UGLY. 1-0 Sounds trail. Pitch count now at 25. Good grief.

We have activity in the bullpen already RHP Blake Holub. This inning is already over if Patrick makes a very basic fundamental play and throw to 2B. That base runner was out by 9 feet. So much pain. 😂

Mercifully, Patrick escapes further damage with a bloop goose snort 'ground out' to 1B. Lots of work to do. Those Sounds bats certainly didn't engender confidence in the first frame.

Five pitches. Two outs. Including a K looking to start his second frame. Big recovery early in the second for Patrick. He ends the frame with his pitch count at a very manageable 34. Just a big time recovery after that botched pick-off throw and three-run resulting barrage in the first.

Zamora joins the strikeout party with a swinging no chance K on a slider well down and in. Roller did open the inning with the end of the bat oppo flare single to shallow RF and he just stole 2B. Collins bloops another bloop fly to shallow left CF and get their first run. We have a ball game. 3-1 Sounds trail. Collins at first. Capra back to the dish for his second AB.

Adamczewski is back in play. Welcome back, young man. He flies out to left CF (I guess, the camera covered nothing) in an 0-2 count. Baez is stranded on 3B. 0-0 as the Muddies head to the bottom of the 1st.

RHP Jason Woodward's first batter in Low-A Carolina will go down as a K swinging on three pitches. Touched 96 mph on the heat. Got him with a change-up swinging in the dirt.

Meanwhile, Wes Clarke has only swung and missed tonight. He strikes out for the 2nd time swinging. I haven't seen his bat touch a baseball. He strands two.

Whewwww. Woodward. Three up. Three down. The last K on a 97 mph heater just above the zone. Second three-pitch K. Got strike one on a gorgeous outer black change-up. Heck of a debut inning.

Meanwhile, Chris Roller continues making web gem plays in CF. He just robbed the Bulls again - this time at the deepest part of their yard. Leaping and then crashing on the fall into the far wall. That's two web gems in two nights. Very very very good defender. Pretty sure both these robberies have been of Chris Mangum's bat?

It's hard to tell with the camera angle from RF but Woodward looked pretty nasty that inning. If I had to choose a single word to describe how his pitches looked I would say tight
