Possible they were in a game that ended in a tie?  The 1982 Brewers played 163 games.

Why would a tie cause them to play an extra game?  And since when did baseball games end in a tie?  Didn't the Brewers have a 25-inning game against the White Sox back in the 80's?

I'm guessing he was alluding to a tie breaker game like the one we had against the cubs to win the division in was it 2019?

Remember what Yoda said:

"Cubs lead to Cardinals. Cardinals lead to dislike. Dislike leads to hate. Hate leads to constipation."

June 16, 1982 was a tie.  Under previous rules if a game went at least 5 innings, was tied and was called for rain it was ruled a tie.  The stats from the game counted but the entire game was made up.  The same thing happened Opening Day 2000 when the Brewers faced the Reds, it was Griffey's first game there.

I would have been very interested until I saw Lorn Brown. Probably my most hated announcer ever. From what I understand, even Ueck didn't like him.

Very much remember listening to that game on the radio.  Ted Simmons bonehead play cost a lead, which ended in a tie after nine innings.  The game had to be replayed at the end of the season, which was nearly choked away.
