Mitch White had a surprisingly very good August as mostly a SP. Would be funny if the Brewers helped him finally figure things out.

5 G, 21 IP, 14 H, 7 R, 5 ER, 6 BB, 24 SO, 1 HBP

2.14 ERA

2.87 FIP

30% K-rate

7% BB-rate

.229 xwOBA

32% whiff rate

84 Avg EV

24% hard hit rate

4% barrel rate

Yup. Been speaking to this for the past three weeks. I've said it tongue and cheek at times given how utterly challenged he was out of the Pen. BUT, he does have a historicity as a Starter. It's been a wild August. I'll call it the "Ashby Effect". I mean, three out of four starts have been absolutely fantastic. Given the nature of the Sounds starting staff, to boot, it is extremely eye-popping and noticeable.

It’s the AAA Sounds turn for their doubleheader, with RHP Evan McKendry (5.28 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, 7.0 K/9 in 75 IP) starting today’s opening game at Charlotte. C Francisco Mejia has a 1.081 OPS in 65 August PAs.

I'm at a Toyota dealership BUT here's your evening's line-up card. RHP Jason Woodward is absolutely dealing through 2.0 IP - 0H, 0BB, 5 K.

RHP K.C. Hunt may need to be flawless given how the already challenged Shuckers bats support his efforts. Let's hope for a twist of fate and an offensive outburst! Welcome back to the line-up Dylan O'Rae. It's definitely noteworthy 3B Brock Wilken is absent after being mysteriously pulled for a PH in the 9th last night - he was nowhere to be seen and wasn't in the dugout. Hopefully, he's OK.

After last night's 4-2 loss, the T-Rats will try to even their series at 2-2. They'll look to RHP Ryan Birchard to hopefully give a decent amount of innings after yesterday's bullpen extravaganza. 3B Jadher Areinamo jumps to lead-off while CF Luis Lara is batting third. DH Ramón Rodríguez will try to keep swinging a hot bat.

What happened in the 3rd?? Saw the word injury delay

He walked a guy then one pitch later bounced the ball. Walked around the mound and all the staff came out. Pulled him  and he walked off with face in glove with trainer. Doesn’t look good after great start.

Come on now! Devastated. He's looked really good since joining the team. I'll have to watch later tonight. Big sigh.

A 9 to 5 lead was a big enough margin for the Mudcats to bring in Miguel Briceno to pitch the bottom of the ninth and he went ground out, HBP, double play to seal the deal in his fourth mound appearance of the season.

Carolina tallied eleven hits all singles with the aforementioned Miguel Briceno, Jose Acosta and Reidy Mercado  collecting a pair each (Acosta & Mercado added a BB/SB each too) while Blayberg Diaz went for the hat trick.

Filippo Di Turi also chipped in a walk and two sac flies.

KC Hunt finished up at 6.1 scoreless walkless innings with 5 H | 6 K.

Shuckers picked up three runs bottom six on back to back Eric Brown Jr and Connor Scott doubles followed by an Ernesto Martinez bomb, but the Biscuits put up a four spot top of eight to take the lead.

Warren - Kahle - Martin due up bottom nine to hopefully spark the comeback.

Yeah it's entirely unknown what happened to RHP Jason Woodward in that AB. Like @Kellerowlsaid: He threw a pitch in the dirt low and inside and in front of the lefty batter. He rounded the mound and in was in discomfort and simply said he couldn't go anymore. Clearly frustrated.

Perhaps @ARobsBrewCrewcan give us updates as the season comes to a close. Man, I feel for this young man who was truly pitching fantastic tonight and has been putting together success each outing. So many tools. Really fantastic velo. Praying it's muscular and not arm/shoulder/elbow related. That's all I got.

As of this morning, injury/severity is still TBD for Woodward.  It is very possible that his season is in jeopardy.  Not the end of the world though as long as it doesn’t affect his season next year, fingers crossed.

Indeed. And so many thank you's for the update. When I saw it on the replay my hope (if I can call it that) was it was something like a lat strain or the like. Nothing structural but, rather, some type of muscular issue coming off the TJ as he works his way back. His arm seemed fine in the toss home. It just seemed like something on his right side tightened up on him and he lost full range of movement. That's the story I'm telling myself as we await work on his status.

Already down Adamczewski, the loss of Baez is really going to sting that top of the order. Not to mention, he's been playing a fantastic 3B. Pair these with Woodward's sudden uncertainty and that's a lotttttta high end talent suddenly on the sidelines. We've joked about Baez's over-aggression in our daily game threads on numerous occasions but he's really toned that down in his return from the shoulder injury. He's had a controlled aggression on the base paths but has been pivotal in terms of the attitude he brings to the line-up. Just an absolute gamer. This has been a war of attrition all year across the ranks. Let's hope all these young men have youth and regeneration in spades!

Unless Woodward is completely minor he wil be shut down as he is scheduled for AFL

Any word on the severity of the injury?
