AND the 2nd in 2024.

Carolina Mudcat OF Yhoswar Garcia stole his 60th and 61st bases at Lynchburg earlier this past week.

Put some respect on his name.

Yes Yhoswar in the same number attempts but played in 16 fewer games. That’s what’s amazing

High-A Wisconsin has its last home game of the regular season, aiming to patch together a win to salvage a 2-4 series defeat to likely semi-final playoff opponent Quad Cities.

LHP Mark Manfredi gets the start, but we’ll see how far he goes after tossing 45 pitches in Tuesday’s contest. The bench today comprises L. Adams, C. Pratt, R. Rodriguez, F. Valerio and T. Hall.

Carolina’s final scheduled road game of the regular season sees them with a chance to complete a 5-0 sweep of Lynchburg. 19-year old LHP Anthony Flores has impressed through 5 Low-A games (2.37 ERA, 0.74 WHIP, 9.0 K/9 in 19 IP).

20-year old Marco Dinges has been swinging the bat well (hit safely in 7 of 8 games, walked in the other) and this is his second MILB game behind the plate.

No offense in the single A affiliates today. TRats getting no hit thru almost 3, and already down 11-0😳

The Quad City team has really dominated this series this week.

Carolina mustering 3 hits and 1 run but down 3-1 in the 5th.

No doubt about it. The T-Rats have largely been dominated. Hopefully, the medicine they'll need for their likely first round playoff opponent.

I see we got 'that' version of RHP Yerlin Rodriguez today. Sigh. Just so many sighs.

1 1/3 IP, 4 H, 4 BB, 1 WP, 2 K, 8 R (5 ER)

The struggles absolutely continue.

CF Yophery Rodriguez picked up his 15th OF Assist today. I don't know where that stands in Low-A but I have to think that's near the top of the leaderboard. His defense continues to be the most consistent high-quality part of his game.

3B Brock Wilken returns from a mini-absence and LHP Adam Seminaris makes his second start of the week as AA Biloxi aims for a 3-3 home series split against Montgomery.

I just sat through today's game, and got to witness Friday and Saturday's mess as well.  3 awful days of baseball is still better than no baseball at all........slightly.

I wasn't exactly sure how Biloxi intended to navigate its lean staff in today's game, but I'd hoped it didn't involve asking Seminaris to throw a starter's load on 4 days' rest. But yup, we've worked him to the tune of 83 pitches on Tuesday and 70 pitches today.

To me, he's truly taken one for the team this week, even if that team presently trails 7-0 (5th inning - which Meeker covered) and has yet to register a hit.

Absolutely. It's certainly not his best role by any stretch - it was proven last year and then again this year. He's best as a middle-innings reliever and he's done quite well in that role. The Biscuits give this Shuckers team fits (as well as most other teams in the North division). If you want to look at where this series was truly lost it was the bullpen blow-up of Childers and Yeager in game 3. If they hold serve it's a 3-3 series split. You pair that blown opportunity and the 1-5 series mark vs Mississippi just two series ago and that is why the Shuckers are barely holding on to their playoff 'lead'.

And, as a direct aside, the move to place RHP Shane Smith back on restricted innings in addition to the Wichrowski injury have really impacted the staff significantly. I have to imagine the Smith maneuver had to do with saving his arm and putting his health at the forefront. He can obviously fill in as a starter and fare quite well in doing so.
