Holub relieved Bowman, with one inherited runner scoring on a ground out to narrow it to 5-4. Shuckers didn’t score in the bottom half of the 6th despite a Murray double.

To the final scheduled inning they go in Game 1 of today’s home doubleheader.

Holub is staying in.

Castillo and Diaz the two new starters for Carolina in Game 2 tonight have gone 0-6 with 4 strikeouts. Nate Stanley's moves in this series have not paid off to this point. We head to the 8th tied 2-2.

Juan Baez throws a ball about 5ft above Bitonti's head allowing the leadoff runner to reach 2B. Just cannot be making mistakes like that. Hardin will need to dig deep here to keep that runner stranded.

Baez is single handed giving both games away. Had 2 errors in the same inning in the first game and now another one to put runner on second

Holub closed it out despite an inning opening single, a later infield single and a stolen base which put the potential game-tying runner at 3rd base. Miller gunned down the first baserunner attempting to steal second. Shuckers win 5-4!

And since Montgomery took Pensacola to the woodshed 10-3 in Game 1 of their doubleheader, Biloxi’s magic number is down to One!!!!

MUDCATS GET OUT OF IT! A liner hit to Guilarte at SS and he doubles off the runner at 3rd (no thanks to Baez who for some reason tried to tag the runner instead of stepping on the base)

Mudcats go down 1-2-3 on 6 pitches in the 8th inning. Jeison Pena in to pitch. Can't say I love bringing in a reliever with a 5.02 ERA in the 9th inning of a tied win or go home game...

That leadoff HBP steals 2B and the go ahead run is on 2nd with 0 outs.

Bad managing all around the last 10 mintues. Estevez leaves Rudy in too long and lets him face 2 dangerous LHH in Nivens and Caglione for a 3rd time. It comes back to bite the Rattlers in the backside and they are now down 3-2.

Pinch running for a guy on 2B who isn't the tying or go ahead run seems pretty pointless.

Carolina's pitching staff by the playoffs was unfortunately just a shell of the pitching staff that it was during the majority of the season. Outside of Manuel Rodriguez basically every single good pitcher was either on the IL or promoted by the time the playoffs showed up and it showed in the series.

Wisconsin had runners on the corners with 1 out and Ramon Rodriguez pinch hitting against a LHP for Matthew Wood grounds into an inning ending double play. Rattlers down 3-2 as we head to the 7th inning.
