The way they treated the off-season you could definitely make that argument. My thing is after having your guts ripped out in the playoffs your only move was losing your shortstop? The Packers lose the long snapper and there is hell to pay.

I'm not saying it was the wrong approach.  Teams that operate this way are going to have seasons where not enough things go their way and they just aren't good.  It happens.  If they believe they have a wave of impact talent coming up and they can clear some cash to fill in the gaps, so be it.  I can take a down year to play the long game.

I'd say there's pretty good odds we're going to be sellers this year.

Hopefully hoskins can keep hitting and bring us something even if it's a lower level prospect

Jays gave all their money to Vlad. Make an offer for Bichette. He's not staying there. Build a package and try to keep him long term. He needs a reset.

Asking this seriously: do we still believe we couldn’t give Misiorowski a start or two before some of our starters get healthy?

Heck yah his ERA is only 1.82 with almost 30 innings. What we waiting for?

If this turns into a long season, it's unfortunate we don't really have any trade pieces. Maybe Peralta and Megill. Doubt Rhys has value. Yeli has no trade.

Civale (if healthy), same for Cortes, Quintana definitely.

No issue with Alexander opening.   No issue with Murphy at all. Just losing now...still good group,, gamers.  Easy to be hopeless down big, but I see promise everywhere especially with a dozen guys getting healthy eventually this season.

I appreciate all that Yeli contributed in 2018-2019 … I’d like him to get hot too so that he could potentially be sent to a contender & net a prospect (or at least clear future payroll)

He has a no trade clause

My biggest problem with Murphy is that he is to darn stubborn.  I'm ready for Weeks.

Oh Lord - I’m not a Murphy fan at all but I much prefer him to Weeks … goodness I hope never manages this team

I’m afraid he’s just a great hitter

The improvement that Armstrong has made is what I was hoping to see from Chourio. Not so fast.

This is a team that has yet to click at any point. I think they can be good if they add at 3rd or shortstop and get back several top rotation pieces. Just cannot role out what we have been at 3rd and SS

Unless MA pries open his wallet a bit, better get used to it. He won't do that though.

For those who prefer to spin every game & every Murphy decision in a positive way - What you got for me tonight?

Let's see *checks notes*

We are one game closer to Murphy being fired.

The decision to sell at the deadline will be really easy.

We are adding to the overinflation of cubs fans heads which will make their end of season collapse much funnier.

That's all I got for today.
