Hopefully it just a bump in the road for Miz. But still has not gotten over the hump in 3a

This isn't that big of a deal unless it comes with "forearm tightness," or something like that in the following days.

He'd been dominating. He's taking the mound and pitching regularly. He's maintaining his velo late into games.

I'm thrilled with how he's been throwing this year. Coming into this start, he was down to 3.3 BB per 9IP, he had a 7 start stretch in which he gave up just 2 single HRs. I was all on board with keeping him in AAA for the full year, but he was so dominant, I thought he may force his way into the rotation.

But I think it's better if he spends the full year in AAA...or at least until Sept, if he's throwing well again, has his 120 innings in and we can use him in a multi inning role.

Things could have gone a little better, but...it's been a REALLY good season thus far.

Do we think this is Zach Peek’s final season under his Minor League contract?

He was drafted in June 2019, but didn’t debut until 2021. We picked him up in the Minor League phase of the Rule 5 draft.

He seems to be feeling good again, after being limited by injuries from July 2022 onward.

Last 9 games: 13 IP, 2 R (1 ER), 6 H, 3 BB, 1 HBP, 19 Ks).

Tough stretch for Cooper Pratt: 2 for his last 30 (both singles), 2 BB, 2 HBP, 8 Ks, 1 RBI, 0 SB, 1 CS.

Biloxi’s lead over Montgomery is down to 1 game.

Biloxi and Rocker City both had 5 hits in Saturday’s 2-1 contest, though that’s kind of normal for the pitcher-friendly Southern League.

Pratt hit 3 ground balls and K’d in an 0-for-4 day.

Similar for Brock Wilken: 2 for last 31, including an 0-for-4 day with 3 Ks in this one.

Peek will be a minor league free agent at the end of the current season. The Brewers and he could of course negotiate a new minor league deal for him to return.

Here are the other Timber Rattlers who will qualify for minor league free agency in October:

RHP Jeferson Figueroa
C David Garcia
INF/OF Eduardo Garcia
OF Yhoswar Garcia
RHP Edwin Jimenez
RHP Jake Polancic

This month I'll be publishing our annual articles with the full list of upcoming MiLB free agents and of those eligible to be Rule 5 protected.
