We have a plethora of 3B types close but not there yet.   I’m inquiring about names like Zach Neto, Jordan Lawler, etc.   Guys that are ready to go now but their team may have a 3B to handle the job at least this year and would love Peralta and be high on their incumbents soon replacement (Wilken or Adams in this case).   Is there any young stud other than these two that might be intrigued by an offer of Peralta and one of these two?

Wilken and Adams aren't really that far away. And while I don't put much stock in Lawlar's tiny MLB sample so far, it's at least fair to say he hasn't yet proven he's MLB ready.

So trading Peralta + Wilken/Adams for Lawlar wouldn't get us much closer to an MLB-ready 3B anyway. If we were to trade Peralta, I'd look to either get the best return overall, disregarding specific need. Or go for a position where there aren't prospects fairly close to ready (There's also Made, long term).

Or, if we're so eager to win in 2025/2026 as opposed to beyond; Don't trade Freddy to begin with. We have a bunch of promising young starters, but we've all seen what happens with injuries, with sophomore slumps (Myers). And so despite Mis, Henderson, Patrick, Priester, Gasser, Myers, Hall, Ashby, Crow etc, the 2026 staff is clearly much better overall with Peralta.

I do not think they will be looking for long term help on the left side with Wilkens and Pratt and possibly even Murray having a chance to debut even by September.  I wouldn’t be surprised if they looked for short term help, but I expect them to wait to closer to end of the deadline. Ortiz and Durbin have been satisfactory and have improved over the month of June.

There is also no need to rush into a trade with Adams, Wilkens, & Boeve. It will work itself out, and if you believe they are good, their trade value will only improve.

So hard to gage Wilkens value right now. Could be pushing for top 100 status or 40 FV org filler. Looking closer to top 100 IMO though.

I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

With their win last night, the Brewers currently hold the #3 wild card spot. Absent a complete collapse over the next 5 weeks they won’t trade Peralta in season.

I don’t think there’s any compelling reason to trade Peralta.  Regarding corner infield, I’m on board with waiting for our prospects for a real solution. If we can trade for a stopgap, then fine, but I am not looking to deal impact prospects to do so.

Usually, I prefer proven MLB quality players over prospects. But I’ve grown pretty fond of this crop. I’ll be especially disappointed if they traded Wilken. The Brewers need more power and less of the fast, low power, defense first players. Maybe Boeve could be packaged with some pitching for a modest, short term upgrade at 3B. Maybe a guy like Jose Miranda / Twins. He’s currently recovering from a strange hand injury.
