At 45-36 the team seems on the rise. The rotation and bullpen looks solid and deep. Woody, Cortes, and Perkins aren't to far from returning. Ortiz and Durbin have been playing well making the teams potential needs as the trade deadline gets closer much smaller. My only pressing need is to give William Contreras a short IL stint to get his thumb right and bat a supercharge.

Yelich killing it on the road but struggling at home……things that make no sense.

Brewers have gotten 1.5 War out of 7 starts from Henderson and Miz…….

Pitching is good and soon will be getting deeper. The volume of bullpen innings bears watching as our starters generally go 5 or 6 most nights. With the incoming SP depth, it wouldn't surprise me if a starter or two might be going to the pen, and hopefully there's no other Civale-type situations.

The offense is, of course, the main concern. The bench, especially. If any of our current A-team got injured, the depth (other than maybe Bauers for Hoskins) at the major league level is not great. Perkins will help some. Of course, it'd be a major help to get a bit more power from this lineup, but we are who we are.

Chourio has had equally large home/road splits as Yelich this season. Brewers in general have big home/road splits. These ranks are MLB ranks.

Home - 153 runs (25th), .287 wOBA (28th), .300 xwOBA (30th)

Road - 226 runs (2nd), .326 wOBA (5th) .324 xwOBA (14th)

Brewers are 9th in all of mlb in runs scored……and only a few runs from 6th.

obviously they are doing it differently than most but scoring runs is what effective offense is about……..and though it doesn’t always look pretty they are more than holding their own.

I don't know if there is a definitive stat that describes "feast or famine", but being 9th in runs scored feels misleading to me. A couple weeks ago, maybe during the Padres series, someone posted our record in games where we score 2 runs or less - seemed like we have a lot of games that meet that criteria (and lose them at a very high rate). Contrast that with the 35 runs we scored in the 3-game sweep of the Twins, and the 60 runs we've scored in the last 7 - this is a hot streak. I'm guessing most teams have these cycles, but if you don't have a lot of power, it seems like the cold streaks are colder.

Just setting us up for a World Series run where we are the last seed to get in and have to play most of our games on the road instead of home. Clearly getting HFA hasn't helped us since 2018 win in the playoffs...
