Only one real ugly moment for Peralta, following the bases-loaded DP by going out & throwing four straight balls to Soto, then ignoring him on the SB. Overall though it's great to see the brain cramp moments for him become less & less. 25-pitch 1st inning, things could've unraveled for the next 51 outs we needed to get today but he got through six which was key.

I just wanted to pile on here:

1. Mets had two hits. TWO! And none after a go-ahead single with no outs in the 4th. If I am reading the pxp correctly, there was only a HBP that interrupted the last 18 outs in a row.

2. Peralta got through the 5th having thrown 85 pitches. On a non-doubleheader day, maybe you think about going to the pen in the 6th, but Freddy set the heart of the order down on 15 pitches, That was useful for pen conservation,

3. Mears got through the 7th on only 6 pitches - probably want to just save him for tomorrow, but he could pitch again tonight - like a 10th inning if needed

4. Hall, in addition to having no drama, saved everybody else for tonight and tomorrow.

All together, that couldn't have gone much better.

Durbin benched for both games seems strange.

He did play 4 innings in game one, I think they're probably just trying to get some ABs for Siegler to get him acclimated.

Looks like Brazobán is starting instead of Tidwell.

Gotta be an opener. He has started twice this year but has 34 appearances and 42 IP. Whether they end up piggybacking him with Tidwell, we'll see.

Pitt rocked him last outing.

Just give Contreras a game off and leave Yelich at DH.

Agreed. Perkins is THIS close (I assume) to coming back & then you can give any of your OFs a day off without having to put Yelich out there. He's healthy & all that, I just don't want to press it.

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Blake Perkins (shin) will join Triple-A Nashville to officially started his minor-league rehab assignment last week.

I would assume he would have to play at least a month in AAA if he does well.

If you believe Murphy ….Perkins might not be back soon

I find this difficult to believe but we will see

Man I wish Winker was playing. Would love to see Miz corkscrew his butt into the ground.

He most likely begged to stay out of the lineup tonight to avoid being humiliated by Peralta and Miz.

If Chourio took a day off who plays center? I guess Frelick? In the old days when there was a dh everyone basically started at least one of the games. Montesario is truly a waste of roster spot if you can't find 4ab today. Collins benched after 4-4 is par for Murphy though
