Blake Holub is a prime example of a relief arm who absolutely has 'stuff' but is just off in the precision department. You can see the stuff. You can see the vision. He is still developing the repetition of his mechanics. His cutter has come a long way since his days in Detroit and it plays off his four-seamer quite well. He continues to struggle with too many walks and men on base. Decent outing tonight. Not great. But, decent and he got the job done.

And, Rund loses the 2-1 lead in the 8th. A swinging bunt up the 3B line between the mound. He was slow to see it. Areinamo charged and made a valiant bare-handed diving scoop and throw. SB. Bloop liner single in a 1-1 count. Sighs. 2-2 game. Two down.

Zamora rips a two-run double to the LF corner with two down in the bottom of the 8th. 8-7 Knights now. Second night in a row the Sounds charged in the 8th.

Rund gave up another single now. RF poke. These aren't hit hard they are finding grass, however. Men on 1st and 2nd. Two down. 2-2 game.

I feel for Rund here. Homeplate ump is very very clearly squeezing the top half of the zone favoring the batter. He's left two strikes in the ball column by my eyes this inning. Instead of 1-1. We have a 2-0 count. He misses wide and it's 3-0 now. About to load the bases here at pitch 27. Gets a foul down the 1B line. 3-1 count.

He escapes inducing the weak pop out to shallow LF. 2-2 headed to the 9th. T-Rats have to start finding ways to win these close contests if they want any type of turnaround in their second half.

This inning has displayed everything good and bad by Yerlin.

Lead off 4 pitch walk.

A wild pitch.

(catchers interference and an intentional walk)

But he throws a few gorgeous sliders. And gets a bases loaded strike out.

A wild pitch bounces right back to Nava. So runners stay,

‘Then a liner right at, I mean right at Baez.  Out #3. No walk off this inning.

so much happening.

And a Nashville run - Daz walks. A wild pitch and Dunn single. 8-8 going to extras in Nashville as well.

Bonus baseball x 2

River Bandits walk the red hot Herbert to start the inning. Unusual.  And the ice cold Eduardo Garcia up.  Guilarte pinch runs for Hedbert - let’s hope we don’t go to a 11th/12th inning where we miss Herbert’s bat.

Garcia looks at a strike - wow TRats not getting those calls. Yeesh.

Man Yhoswar was absolutely robbed of a deep fly to the left CF gap at the warning track in the top of the 9th. Heck of a grab by the CF'er. My goodness.

** YES, I'm back late again after animal chores. LOL. A classic for this ol' farmer.

RHP Justin Yeager is absolutely made for the International League. A 10 pitch 1-2-3 9th. The International League absolutely rewards pitchers with any semblance of stuff who know how to tickle the zone. That's Yeager's specialty.

Nicasia!!!

Pinch hit double scores 2 runs. Heck yeah!

If Yerlin is back out for the 10th they may need 5 more runs.😆

Ugh. Don’t look at the Nashville game, just focus on the TRats, or even the TRays 😉

Yerlin is indeed back out for the 10th.  Ok here we go it’ll be interesting at least 😬

And first pitch wild pitch. Yikes…

Good thing the ghost runner doesn’t matter just get the guys in the batters box out….

Alastre. How can I put this nicely just dropped out #1. Two runners on

But Yerlin gets the big K painting the corner for first out.

Gotta get this guy out Yerlin…. Oh no 3-0 count. Wild Yerlin after a masterful at bat before. And it’s a 4 pitch walk  bases loaded again.  This feels like last night  yikes

Love that moment for Dunn. Fitting the umpiring crew clearly missed interference in the base paths as he attempted to get back to 1B on the wide turn. I sear every call has gone against the Sounds tonight. It's uncanny.

And a call goes the T-Rats way … oh wow. That’s huge. A check swing and was called strike 3.  Yerlin got lucky. Now get one more batter you win….

And he does it. I mean this was the whole Yerlin spectrum tonight.  Beautiful pitches, huge strike out, unnecessary walks and wild pitches.  Lots of pitches and base runners. Just lots going on, but in the end he gives up only the unearned run in the 10th.

Man if Yerlin could find more of “good” Yerlin and you have a lights out reliever. Upper 80s slider and upper 90s fastball.  Man he can do it. Just gotta command it.

Either way a win.
