Well, that inning didn't fill me with hope.

No, I don’t think this one is happening. Had our chances.

Regarding Perkins, he may be scuffling at the plate a little bit, but remember he was the hero of the first game against the Mets series by throwing out the tying run at the plate to end the game. Plus, by all accounts, he is one of the clubhouse leaders.

But, yes, Chourio would help

That pitch has been a strike at times today. Tough one on a 3-2 fastball against a guy who doesn't walk too many

Well, he just called a ball on a legit high strike to Castro, so you’d have to think he wouldn’t have rung up Perkins on a pitch 4 inches higher.

Let’s just hope this game didn’t give cubs confidence.    Because if they get tonight’s game then it’s on

What's on?? Even if the Cubs win tonight the brewers still have a 7 game lead

There should literally be zero panic at this point

Agreed, though I think it's always on in mid-August. Even if they sweep these two, a seven-game lead with 36 to go is right where the Brewers want to be.

Given the Cubs schedule, I've always been of the belief that we're going to have to play really well down the stretch to win this division and secure the bye. Obviously, I'd love to leave Chicago nine up (or better), but I can't shake the feeling that this is going to come down to the final week no matter what.

Exactly. The Brewers are in the driver's seat. This team would need to hit an epic skid for the Cubs to even think about the division.

Hopefully we give this a go here, but throwing Patrick was always going to be trying to steal a win and really turn up the pressure.

He struggled to settle down, we made one bad defensive play, and had some tough batted ball luck. On the bright side, the Cubs had to really stretch their pitching yesterday and today. Hopefully, Woody is the horse we all know he is tonight and the bullpen situation pays even more dividends tomorrow and Thurs.
