Tough luck in running in to Snell when he was peaking as a pitcher this season. Going in to the game, his last 5 starts were 32 IP giving up just 3 runs. All 5 games Quality starts.

He's what Woodruff was supposed to be returning from injury to start August, and be prime come playoffs.  I cant see the Brewers winning the series due to Snell dominance  another game and 3rd start if a game 7.

Really poor scheduling in that the Brewers going 5 games left them with a bullpen Game 1 vs LA's current Ace starter.  Great advantage for being best team in the season.

Snell won't get the ball again until Game 5, and he won't be starting Game 7 on two days' rest unless it's to give them an inning.  But yeah, he's rolling right now.

Guess I’m not sure what you mean by poor scheduling? You just mean unfortunate circumstance? We had to throw everything at the wall to try to beat the Cubs. It’s unfortunate that we couldn’t line things up the way we wanted, but the Dodgers clinched before we did and had more time. It is what it is.

No one ever knows how all this will go, but I would guess:

1) If we lose the series, we'll either be saying: a) the Dodgers were just better or b) We really missed the big chance in Game 1.

2) If the Dodgers lose series, they'll look back at this game and believe it highlighted the weakness of their bullpen more than the strength of their starting pitching.

True....but I still have zero idea what in the world Teoscar was doing at 3rd base on that play - as soon as the ball hits Frelick's glove he could have tagged and crawled home and made it safely in stead of going back to third, motioning to Smith to get back, and then heading for home.  I was impressed by the left field ump's quick call of "safe" indicating it wasn't a catch, which would have been right in front of Will Smith, too.

It took atrocious baserunning by the Dodgers for there to be 1 out recorded on that play, historically awful to turn it into a double play.  No knock on the heads up defense by me saying that, either.

OK, I didn't know the LF ump made a quick determination. In that case some weight falls on the 3B coach to notice that & respond properly. But you're right about Hernandez. Having no runners in front of him it should've been elementary.

I still keep thinking about that double play. Just when you think you’ve seen and read about so many plays in baseball, something comes along and makes you show your head in disbelief. I know the game wasn’t the outcome we wanted, but that play was amazing.
