Let's go, Matt Arnold!!! The FIRST EVER to win multiple Executive of the Year Awards! Congratulations, Matt!

Great front office.

A great boss delegates. It seems like Montgomery and... well, so many people have a lot of responsibility.

How many executives of the year is this under Attanasio BTW?

It's at least 4. Arnold 2X, Melvin won it in 2011 and then the only non-GM(at the time) Jack Z won it in... '07 or '08.

Don't think Stearns won it, though... probably should have.

Could you imagine what he could do if we could even get up to the MLB avg in payroll?

By extension, are you suggesting Attanasio for ‘owner of the year?’ 🙂

I... actually might.

When you consider(assuming the numbers are accurate) the Dodgers finish their season or fiscal year with 25M in Net Revenue and the Brewers with 21(at least for 2024)... and what he's done in bringing in elite people to run the team, taken a step back and resisted meddling(Jeff Suppan, Kyle Lohse) and just given Stearns and Arnold what they need... yeah, I might. Imagine how that idea would go over on Twitter where there are people who genuinely want us to sign a Tucker or "for once be in on a guy like Soto." That' a comment I read last year... all while calling Attanasio cheap!

But the DR academy we invested in, the AZ and the pitching lab? It's pretty amazing.

Now... if he REALLY wants to win it, he could pony up about 800M and sign Kyle Tucker, make a blockbuster trade and acquire Tarik Skubal who he then extends at 10/400(both get 400M)... I'll definitely hand him the award!

I may have to go and commission the plaque and...ya know, create the award, but yes, he'd get it!

I mean... you could literally sign Kyle Tucker... and have money left over. That's with Woodruff.

I'm sure that's not the most exciting signing given his recent year, but he fits the Brewers style of play really well.

You could also sign Bichette, stay well under the average and play him at 2B and get another big bat in your lineup.

Fun to think about.
A true 5-tool player with a smooth swing who was banged up much of last year, but a .280./.365./.515/.880 type hitter since 2021, a 5 WAR player, 27 HRs, 21 SBs, really good defense, speed.

Turang(2B)/Chourio(CF)/Tucker(RF)/Contreras(C)/Yelich(DH)/Vaughn(1B)/Frelick(LF)/Durbin(3B)/Ortiz(SS)

And you could still sign a guy like Ryan Helsley... who I don't think anyone agrees with me on because they're not playing this hypothetical, but I think with his stuff and our pitching development, we could get more out of him and now you make Mears one run down the ladder while you provide protection for Megill in case the elbow wasn't 100% and he took one for the team by throwing in the playoffs.

This is all pointless and firmly off-topic, but imagine being the Dodgers? 'Yeah, we've got Ohtani, Betts, Freeman, Muncy, 4 aces and maybe the most talented young stable of arms and a deep farm system, but... we just need one more 400M contract to put us over the top. Oh, and probably going to go sign an elite closer... but it'll be a quiet off-season for us!

100% agree.

The most important thing an owner of a small-market team can do is hire the very best talent to run his team and Attanasio has hit it out of the park in that regard with Stearns/Arnold/Klentak/Johnson and all of the assistant GM’s he’s hired over the last decade.
