DSL Brewers Gold released RHP Albert Vargas

Vargas turned 20 years old this past Monday. A native of Venezuela, he had only signed in April of last year, not as part of the January 2025 signing class. The linked player page above documents his general struggles over 15 relief appearances in 2025.

We'll give him a shoutout and wish him well by spotlighting his career-best performance last July 26th.

DSL rosters likely won’t be finalized until around June 1.  Ricki Moneys will be one of the most exciting names to follow there this season!

Ha, guess who Sunday's scheduled starter for Nashville was:

• Milwaukee Brewers recalled RHP Carlos Rodriguez from Nashville Sounds.
• Milwaukee Brewers optioned LHP Robert Gasser to Nashville Sounds.

• DSL Brewers Blue placed RHP Fausto Barreras on the 60-day injured list.

Now 18 years old, Barreras threw one (scoreless) inning on August 19th in the DSL after signing last June out of Mexico.

- OF Akil Baddoo reinstated from 60-day injured list and optioned to AAA Nashville (where he was already playing on a rehab assignment)

Though this isn’t showing on the Brewers’ MILB transaction log yet, it appears we’ve signed 23-year old RHP Bryce Schaum (a 2025 Carthage College graduate) from the Chicago Dogs of the independent American Association:

The 26-year old Adams was signed as a free agent in February 2026, playing 12 games for Biloxi (.762 OPS in 51 PAs) and 15 games for Nashville (.570 OPS in 54 PAs). He had a highlight reel game-saving catch 12 days ago, but was perhaps the odd man out of a crowded outfield
