The Low-A Warbirds look to RHP Jarrette Bonet (4.15 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, 12.5 K/9 in 17.1 IP) as they aim to even up their home series against Salem at one game apiece. 18-year old C Kevin Garcia (.727 OPS in ACL/Low-A last year) makes his 2026 season debut.

High-A Wisconsin also find themselves in a 1-0 series hole at home, with LHP Wande Torres (5.14 ERA, 1.64 WHIP, 11.6 K/9 in 14.0 IP) getting today’s start against Quad Cities. DH Marco Dinges (1.108 OPS in 70 PAs) has reached base in 16 straight games (excluding a 1 PA game).

Via a Baseball America email newsletter:

Jesús Made, SS, Brewers: Even on a night when he went 0-for-5, Made, the top-ranked prospect still in the minors, gave Double-A Biloxi fans something to remember.

With Dillon Lewis hitting a grounder to his backhand, Made knew he needed to get everything on the throw. So, he reared back and fired a one-hopper to first to nab the runner.

Biloxi broadcaster Javik Blake said that the throw was measured at 100 mph. With a play like this, there's always the chance of a misread. But if Made's 100 mph throw is accurate, it is one of the hardest ever by an infielder in the Statcast era.

There have been triple-digit throws by infielders in the major leagues in recent years, but Made's throw was different. Elly De La Cruz had a 101.0 mph throw in 2025, and Masyn Winn had one at 101.2 in 2024, but both of those were on relays from the outfield. Triple-A Albuquerque shortstop Cole Carrigg also has a 101 mph throw on a relay to home this season to nab a runner at the plate. Relay throws allow a fielder to get much more momentum into the throw than a normal play in the infield. It's also why outfielders have regularly been clocked in the triple digits on throws.

But no Triple-A or MLB infielder has had a 100-plus mph throw tracked on a play within the infield in the Statcast era. Winn did have a 100.5 mph throw on a force out in the 2022 Futures Game, which remains the only Statcast throw of 100 mph tracked on such a play. Made's bullet to first doesn't enter the Statcast records, but it is yet another reminder of how special the 19-year-old is.

I know this will shock everyone but up here in Appleton the weather is unfavorable again. I was planning on going to the game but it is currently raining and 40+ degrees. I haven't seen a delay announcement yet but wouldn't be surprised.

Games have been postponed today for a Thursday DH:

Wilson back in the Win column with a 5-1 victory. The Undrafteds in Bonet and Perry held serve yet again. Meneses w/ a scoreless final frame as well. Montero went yard. Ebel hit his first triple in a 2-for-3 say (dare I say, he is simmering?). Nice games from Encarnacion and Lameda. Jayden with 3 free passes. Nice to see the young men earn a much needed 'W'.

These vintage highlight clips are pretty fun. Here's Montero's pull shot.

LHP Brian Fitzpatrick selected to the Brewers 40-Man roster is One of the more amazing and  awe-inspiring Brewers storylines since Chourio. His evolution as a pitcher has been nothing short of miraculous to witness. What an incredible feat!

After yesterday’s rainout, AAA Nashville and Norfolk get a second chance to commence their series in Hit City, this time with LF Jackson Chourio and 1B Andrew Vaughn starting their rehab assignments. LHP Thomas Pannone aims for more zeroes (6.2 IP, 0 R, 4 Ks in 2 games).

I’m glad to see Mike Boeve and Josiah Ragsdale right back in their starting lineups after exiting in the late innings of their Tuesday games.

Mid-June is a fantastic time of year to visit Wisconsin.  It'll be in the 70/80s with probably low humidity.  April and even May up here can be iffy as far as temperatures go.

Any reason why the short start for Pannone  ?

Probably on a pitch count after missing all of last season and the first 2 weeks of this season. He’s thrown 39 pitches, 45 pitches and now 52 pitches in 3 games this month.
