Surprised to see Miz out there still. Looked like he was losing some velocity on his fastball. But maybe we're just spoiled by his 103 as if 99 is something to sneeze at.

Cubs have lost 9 straight after winning 10 straight. Incredible

Being 29-25 with two 10 game winning streaks is something.

Back to 102 on that K. Might have just enough gas to get through 7 and then turn it over to the pen.

I just don't understand what Brewers are doing with Ortiz. You cannot build an offense with dead spots like this. A three run inning turns into barely one.

It's pretty easy to understand. His glove at an extremely important position is fantastic. The bigger problem is that the hitters around him are also bad. You can deal with one poor hitter in the lineup if he makes up for a bunch of it in the field, but three or four is tough.

I assume they will weather the storm, be fine in the long run, and make the playoffs (regardless of the division result), but yeah, it's got to be demoralizing to have two 10-game winning streaks this early and not be in first place.

Perkins is by far the biggest problem.

Probably. 6 playoff teams per league these days helps.

I get it however second and third less than two contact is a must. You aren't expecting a three run blast but man a sac fly would do.

So Brewers plan to let Bill walk and just get a draft pick?

Unfortunately probably yes. Ironically they actually probably can afford him. Catcher is one position that doesn’t usually see exorbitant paydays in MLB and I don’t really know why.

That's what I was thinking as well. I have no faith in anything they have behind this guy. Not sure what the pay scale is for catcher but it cant be out of hand. At some point you gotta keep somebody beside Yelich.
