Ashby with an easy 8th

Hopefully he finishes this game & saves the bullpen

Could he get a two inning save?

I cannot recall ever seeing a major league position player hitting under .100 two months into the season. That is quite impressive. Mid to late June return for Lockridge, that is three to four more weeks of basically sending a pitcher up to hit every two-three innings.

I am hoping they pull the plug before then. It sucks, Perkins is someone you want to root for but it’s time, there’s just no real value to the MLB roster there.

Id bring up Williams and if he doesnt hit either you send him back down when Lockridge comes back.  If he does hit you put him at 3rd and let Rengifo go when Lockridge comes back.   Or Lara, either way, with also considering Mitchell's injury history, it would be nice what the have in CF begind him.

Perkins is by far the biggest problem.

It's time.

If they don't want to bring Lara up for the fear that he will sit too much, bring up Leonard for his shot before Lockridge comes back.  Play him in LF against LHP and as a pinch hit option off the bench.

If he shows something...great.  If not, you still have the blue chip guys to try later in the year.

I see no reason to play Perkins, at all, anymore.  If he is going to stick on this roster, use him for pinch running only.  He needs to go, but apparently, he's staying, at least until we see fit to bring up Lara and/or Jett.

Go with Bauers, Chourio, Mitchell and Frelick and be done with it.  I don't even think Frelick deserves to be playing daily anymore.

Go with Bauers, Chourio, and Mitchell daily.

It's time to make a change, and Perkins and Frelick both, no longer deserve starts

Good win today. Would have liked to avoid so many outs on the bases, but the way Mis was throwing, it was all moot.

I keep waiting for some kind of position player shuffle. At this point, I think Hamilton and Perk are most likely to go, but we will see if it happens before Lockridge comes back.

I wonder what bats will be available at the deadline? Seems like a year they could trade from the minor league surplus.

I just want to mention that a spot can be cleared for Lara at any time simply by placing Zerpa on the 60 day. A DFA isn’t necessary.

They would still need to clear a spot for Jett some other way, though.

Or we could simply promote prospects to see who can play several weeks before trade deadline

The 40 man is currently at 39, so room for both Lara and Jett.  Note that Badoo and Zastrynski will need a 40 man spot as they are on 60 right now.  But they can make room (Rengifo, Perkins).

I’m pretty sure Badoo was just activated yesterday to take up the last spot.

Xavier Edwards or Otto Lopez of the Marlins were rumored last year and either would still make a fantastic addition now.
