RF Damon Keith (.926 OPS in 133 PAs) returns to the Biloxi lineup for his first action since May 23, as the team battles 19-year old LHP Cam Caminiti in his AA debut. RHP Braylon Owens (4.24 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, 11.3 K/9 in 87 High-A/AA IP) gets the start at Columbus with the series tied 1-1.

22-year old RHP Jacob Morrison makes his 2nd High-A start (3 IP, 0 R, 3 Ks on 44 pitches five days ago) as Wisconsin shoots for a 3rd straight win at Beloit. RF Luis Castillo’s hitting streak has reached 10 games.

Andrew Healy with a very nice 5 innings of relief. Came in with a 4-4 tie, Wilson hitter get 4 runs (Antunez and Mills as noted above @Tedaldtada).

I am going to say this for the third time the past month or so: I absolutely love how RHP Braylon Owens competes. He is a very good starting pitcher. What is his ceiling, I wonder aloud? I already really appreciate his floor.

His second error costs Biloxi the game. Routine ground ball to him at 3B to end the game and he played it poorly and went under his glove. Two batters later Biloxi gets walked off.

Crow and Owen’s with strong starts. And Dubanewicz and Healy with solid relief outings.

Fischer will improve. Another month of AA plus another full offseason and he’ll polish up a bit. I’m willing to be patient.

Yeah, absolutely rough work defensively. AND, it's further exacerbated by the fact we both know you can't ask even more from the Shuckers bullpen. Sam Garcia isn't a 9th inning guy but the Shuckers don't really have any horses for the leverage spots anymore. Injuries and promotions. They are running on fumes. This word salad to say: that was an awfully bad time for an awfully bad dead center belt high flat Garcia heater on the game-ending hit.

I have had the same thoughts at time, but Braun was much better contact and didn't have the K issues. But the pitching is a lot different than 20 years ago too.

I try not to think of that comparison, since I don't want to set those expectations - as reaching Braun status is such a high bar.  But from a dominant hitter, who could breeze up the minors and has defensive challenges that may move him elsewhere, yup agree
