Pretty much, and the guys who have produced in the past have somehow forgotten how to hit. 

It's scary how bad Contreras looks.

I’m not even saying it sucked and I’d do it again. I’m just saying that the declarations of it being an absolute massacre proved to be premature.

It’s the same ******** from last season. Team has zero slug and will fail against elite pitching but they played the margins even tighter and will win regular season games because they try harder than everyone else. Congrats, ******* playoff team and a bunch of try hards in the regular season. Zero pop in this lineup. So sickening. 2018 under stearns and Counsell was far closer than this garbage.

I'm one that wanted a bat the deadline. Even I am ashamed at what is happening since. Banking on two rookies was already putting pressure on things. Fall off of vets makes it worse.

Shouldn’t really be that hard to figure out, it’s not really a slight against Bauers, I said he was having a very nice season, but when your best hitter is an almost 31 year old journeyman with a career 94 OPS+, it means you had almost no one else among your core players that outperformed offensive expectations. You can’t be carried by one guy.

and let's be honest, they lucked into this version of Bauers.  No one could have predicted he'd have this kind of season.
