Sun. 8/16: Three of the Brewers Best Pitching Prospects Slated to Start

Posted

I see the Shuckers lost.  Too much to come back from that early 4-0 deficit. Seems like 2 errors on the one play by DeBerry and Payne, and then DeBerry gives up the big HR.  Fischer had a HR.  Boeve as well and had a good day at the plate, it would be great if he was back to the hitting prospect he looked like in 2023 and early 2024.

Hardin was not sharp today, as he is struggling after a good start to his AAA career. Kuhnel, Koenig and Childers with scoreless innings of relief. Matos and Naylor both multi hit games and a HR for each as well.  Sounds win 6-4

Tate Keuhner’s back!

2 unearned runs with 5 K. 60+ pitches, 92-94, so hopefully the velo ticks up as he builds back his arm-strength. Just nice to have him back pitching again.

There is an element of misfortune here from Hardin. Stuff wise, he should struggle more to get past left handers, but his .410 BABIP against right handers has given him reverse splits. a FIP of 3.58 vs an ERA of 5.14 highlights that further.

His four-seam also had a 50% whiff rate yesterday. there's some command improvements (command over control) to really maximise his arsenal, but the numbers suggest he's still pitching well

Here are his numbers on the year:

So Turang, Pratt and Adams are the closest comps right now.  If so I'll take it, since all 3 are MLB talents, with two on the roster currently.

Hope he can get a call up to the bigs this year still even if for a cup of coffee, unlikely but if not hope he gets a shot next year
