Given the offensive paradise in the desert, the Cubs pen might be pretty wrecked after this series and then AZ without an off day. That trip to Seattle is really tough. It's an island, and even the West Coast opponents nearby are longer flights. I think expansion should look to Portland/Vancouver just to give the M's at least one good travel partner. Geography really makes it tough on them.

Glad we are done with that for the regular season.

Honestly that's a bigger hurdle for them making up ground than if they had 0 games left against the Brewers - because the brewers are the toughest matchup the cubs have left on their schedule.

 

It would actually surprise me if the cubs dont lose more ground after those 7 games compared to gaining

Yeah but who cares?  I don't dismember remotes, I've probably had an explative laden moment in my lifetime.  Its not like remotes (or explatives), perverbial or not, are being launched at any poster in these cases.

Cubs and Brewers have pretty much similar schedules in Sept

Brewers toughest part is almost over but as long as they play .500 baseball or better cubs will have next to impossible chance of catching them

Heck, even Fangraphs moved the Cubs to below double-digit chance to win division finally after last night's games.  Now it is down to 5%.

Maybe if you’re this concerned about the Seattle Mariners trying to be competitive against you, you’re not as good as you thought you are. 

Everybody knows the west coast teams all have lopsided home/road splits because of the travel.

This view is so darn cool.  You can watch both dugouts, the base coaches, and the insane fans all at the same time.  Glad Seattle didn't do this here.

They don't do this nearly enough.  They did it for Turang's homer in Game 5 last year and the final out of Game 5.  It's the best thing they have and you typically have to go looking for it.
