Braves win to potentially get to within 3 of the Brewers, same for the Dodgers (though they haven't won yet).

Good news for the Crew is that the Braves, after three games vs SF/Washington to start the week, then go Phillies, Rays, Phillies, Cubs, Astros. If they get the bye, they'll have earned it.

I just don't understand how they're using him. You look at his stats and his first AB of the games he's hitting like .250 but his second and third trips he hits 100 points higher. So we're going to use them as a pinch hitter most of the time. Makes no sense.

Every so often, Murph has a game where it seems like he completely punts. Not like actively tries to throw the game, but completely disconnects from doing anything to actively trying to win it to the point where I almost ask if there is some sort of purpose or strategy behind it.

Don't worry.  I was assured by Vinny that when he practices in between starts he throws more pitches than normal.  So we have that going for us.

 

Sproat and Crow could have put up May numbers.

At this point, I trust him more in that spot (and to give you a better AB in on average, across all situations) than Lara. But it's close.

I think the bigger issue is burning Vaughn in the 5th inning. But if you're just going to do it one hitter later, this time with the bases clean, I'm as stumped as anyone.

Setting up well to let Wilson throw a couple of innings before he's probably replaced. Certainly a silver lining if you can go into the Cubs series fresh.

Worst case scenario, we pick up a game this week. If the Reds can help us out, we pick up two, even assuming there's no comeback. Your best three guys are starting that series, and your bullpen should be fresh, so that's a positive situation in a lot of ways.

Though, watching Turang do things like that, it does seem maybe we're looking ahead to that bus trip a little too much...

Words can’t express how bad Turang has been the last couple weeks, but it’s not usually with the glove.

This game looked extremely promising for another convincing win in the 1st inning and then it’s been all downhill since. 

Murphy has managed so poorly today that I genuinely sincerely wonder if he felt fine taking one on the chin today as long as he could avoid using any leverage relievers before the Cubs series.

Dicey from a fan's perspective, sure, but it's hard to expect a team to have a week's worth of a lead for the bye with 25 games left. The fact that the Brewers have a 3-game lead on two teams (holding the tiebreaker over one), one of whom plays a murderous schedule, is pretty much the best we could have hoped for at this point in the year.

May is good pitcher he’s just had a bad night it happens. It could have happened to crow or sproat and you’d be moaning we didn’t have anyone else besides them

May has been a good pitcher this year. For one half season. For his career he's been bad or injured.

That's not true.  I didn't like the trade initially.   Ive never once moaned about the Sproat tade or how they acquired Crow.  So that was a false premise.

 

Tell me something about his stats the last 2 years that backs up ypur claim that hes a good pitcher.
