AA Biloxi trail their final regular season series of 2026 three games to one at Pensacola and hand the ball to 21-year old RHP Josh Knoth (3 IP, 0 R, 2 Ks last outing) to start tonight. 2B Daniel Dickinson has a 7-game hitting streak.

LHP Colton Gordon is on a respectable run (16 IP, 6 R, 15 Ks over last 3 games) and leads AAA Nashville as they seek a 3-2 series lead at Durham. DH Blake Burke (homered last 2 games) and RF Akil Baddoo (1.012 OPS over last 59 PAs) make quite the 2-3 punch.

Yeah kinda weird. The last game he played was on Wednesday and he played the entire game. He's played just about every game this year so not sure if they are just giving him a break until the playoffs start or if there's a legit injury.

Or maybe they have signed him to that extension, and waiting for paperwork to clear?

Interesting idea, but I would think that would be an offseason or early season move (like Chourio, Pratt and even Lara was closer to first half) if nothing more than the 40-man roster manipulation.  But then I’ve been wrong a lot.
