It seems like every year we have added quality young pitchers that have had struggles. I think this would be a good idea to identify players that fit the Harrison, Preister, Hall, Drohan style mold that we could add in the offseason.

1) Carson Wisenhunt- Hasn't found success in the bigs and is a former top prospect. Doesn't throw real hard but has a great changeup. I think with a mph addition and the obligatory cutter he could be a big cheaper addition.

2) Jonah Tong- I doubt he has run out of leash but he had a rough year and Stearns will be forced to make moves. We could cash in on a rebound.

3) Ricky Tiedeman- He has been hurt by injuries but there is a quality arm here if healthy. Value wise though he is lower than his potential and like the Mets the Jays need to make some moves to show quick improvements.

Others?

I think we should definitely see that.  And of course bullpen arms.  Your names are some good thoughts.

I’d probably get Sproat onto the DL Hall program.  See if changing him to unleashing his arm in 1-2 inning spurts would help him. But I bring him up because bullpen acquisitions are huge for us.  Just like Hall, he can still be a nice piece.  They were hardly under the radar but can be valuable even if it’s not as a front line starter.

I am  curious what Harrison’s offseason regimen looks like.  He was lights out, got hurt, and wasn’t the same.  Getting him back on track will be huge.

Yeah, getting Harrison right is priority #1. Then Priester, who I read today is on target to start ST a full go.

The team will have less than a month to add SP depth from outside the organization, fortunately, they have more SP prospect depth in the uppers than they’ve had in a while. Kuehner-Hardin-Letson-Knoth-Thompson-Crow is a nice 6-some of arm talent that could all pitch for the big-club if needed  next year at some point in the season.

I think Sproat to the pen makes a ton of sense. The Brewers are leaning hard towards allowing starters 2 trips through the order and being done (outside of Miz). I know a decent part of that this year was youth and restrictions but they purposely built their bullpen outside of the Uribe and Megill to all be multi inning guys.

Getting Sproat out there, taking away a pitch or two and telling him to ramp up the juice for 25 pitches an outing makes a lot of sense to me if he can keep the ball in the zone. I think he has a lot to offer yet.

I've been on the Spoat to the pen wagon train since mid-season. I think putting him in the Bryse Wilson role as a multi-inning reliever who isn't pitching in big situations is perfect to start the year. As he gains confidence Murph can sprinkle in a 7th inning close game appearance or 2, by the end of the year hopefully he is tuned in and his stuff playing up will make him a weapon.
