The big game is tomorrow, when we go over the .500 mark for good. Tonight is great, but I don't want to see it end here like it has in times past. Time to get on a tear and leave this .500 mark choking on our dust.

To anyone with Tivo or something else equally super high tech:

Can we please get a shot of JJ's girlfriend? I was at work so missed out. And i believe that the MLB.TV is through the Arizona broadcast..

I actually fell asleep during the game and had to find out the score in the middle of the night. .500. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!! Let's go from here for a change! Would be awesome! LOL to the guys who think the old man is gawking at JJ's girlfriend. I'm sure he is, while his wife is gawking at JJ! The man is nothing short of gorgeous (female fan here). He could get a great looking woman if he was a janitor. Back to the important stuff. 17 wins for Cappy, a great win, and let's go Brewers---let's end up above .500. I'm too exicted to go back to sleep!

.500 in September? It's been a long time!

I know that our lack of ability to bunt has been discussed ad nauseum, but here is a perfect example as to how statistics can be thrown out the window with us, and intangebles are the ultimate difference between us and teams like Atlanta.

Are you saying the ability to bunt is an intangiblethat teams like Atlanta almost never fail at sacrificing?

League average for a successful sacrifice is something like 82% That doesn't include a guy attempting a sacrifice on the first 2 strikes and then swinging after that, so the actual success rate is even less. I have no idea what the distribution of the sacrifice success rate is among teams is but I suspect it's not nearly as large as people think.

I had to go to sleep before the game ended last night. But fear not, the tagline is newly edited. Woo hoo!

Nice to end the game on a Royce K. Would that every win could end with the thwarting of an ex-Brewer.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

No, I was saying that bunting is one of those basic skills of baseball that we are terrible at. We are not just terrible, we are the worst bunting team I have ever seen. If we rarely attempted to bunt, this would be of little consequence. We attempt the sacrifice bunt frequently, and fail horribly at an alarming rate. I only mentioned Atlanta because they are a fundimentally sound team. Not just at bunting. And I never suggested that any team is 100% successful at anything. The whole point was not to dispute the validity of stats, even though I phrased it in a way than it seemed as though I was. The point was that if we were even an average bunting team, we would have won 3 to 5 of the games that we have lost. .500 is nice, but 6-10 games over would have been better, and we would not be dreaming about the Wild Card, we would be right in there for it.

I can't imagine that's even close to true but I have nothing to back that up with so.....
