Not having the ability to watch the game, I'm guessing Clark had to wait to make sure it got in the outfield so he didn't get thrown out at third like he has about 22 times this season.

 

Once he did that, it was too late to try to score.

 

Anybody want to answer why Overbay, Lee, and Jenkins all struck out? Oh, yeah. I think I know that one.

Ralph, it isnt even that the players they are acquiring are having monster years, outside of Guillen and Johnson the entire offense is below average (as a whole). Our luck would be that they'd get Helms, start him and bat him 3rd and still win the East somehow.
