Look on the bright side. They get to go against Maddux tomorrow. The Brewers usually do just great against him.

Hey, at least Yost's stupid interesting in-game tactics didn't blow this one.

Yup, all on Santana today. Should Turnbow have been in? Who knows. This sucks.

Yost made good calls in the 8th. The problem was that JJ, Prince, and Magruder just did not get it done. The only thing I really disagreed with was having Weeks bunt - he's got a great bat, and having him bunt takes the bat out of his hands.

It's also time for JJ to pack his bags for Nashville.

Well, back to 7 under .500. Nothing like losing 3 straight after such a great game Saturday night. I really thought that this team might go on a big time streak after Saturday, but I guess we went right back to being the sucky team that we are.

I still think that was a good move. If your 3 and 5 hitters can get just a single, then your in trouble none the less.

By the way, is it just me, or do losses to the Cubs hurt twice as much as losses to any other team. I hate it. Maybe it's because my wife is a Cubs fan?

I just can't stand being a Brewers fan anymore...it's just too painful.

The Brewers are like that girl that keeps cheating on you but you keep taking her back...oh man, this loss hurts.

Anybody else hate being a Brewers fan sometimes! Man, days like this just suck.

Man, you nailed it. Days like this just suck because they ruin my night.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif

Didn't you screen her for possible flaws before you married her? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

You mean the Cubs scored the winning run without bunting a guy over??

Take notice Ned.

Yeah, OK! Almost a relevant comparison. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif

Unless you are suggesting that Ned Yost or any other manager would have had Aramis Ramierez bunt, or that after there was one out, Ned Yost or any other manager would have had Todd Walker or Todd Hollandsworth bunt.

Big difference between having Aramis Ramierez up there with nobody out and asking Trent Durrington or JJ Hardy to bunt with nobody out.

The best parts about these game threads is that after a loss like this, and I think I might be taking the loss a little too seriously, I check on this, and suddenly I think I'm handling it quite well.

Gotta salvage tomorrow's game. The Brewers are presently in a three way tie for second to last place in the division.

Me feelo no goodo.

No, that's still Ned's fault. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif

Bunting with a runner on 1st and nobody out is still the right move, IMO. You can't fault the manager for expecting his #2 and #7 hitters to be able to get a bunt down.

I also that the Saturday's victory would be a big confidence builder, which would lead to success. We let it become a climax instead of a springboard. The Cubs have scored 5 runs and have won two games with them. I think that it is a lot more than just JJ Hardy's fault. I don't understand why, when we lose close games, everybody talks about JJ's lack of hitting or Neds bunt decisions. It is more than that. We don't have much of a line-up. I would make one change, I would put Brady in the 3rd spot. I feel that is the key spot in a line-up. I think Ricky could bat lead-off. I would like to see Brady get more RBI chances because he is our most consistent hitter.

Bunting Hardy is one thing. Bunting by any major league non pitcher with 2 strikes is another.

I can't count the times where I've seen guys fail to get a bunt down then stroke a hit with 2 strikes. Yost would rather give the opponent the out.

You can defend the small ball all you want but until this team shows the slightest inclination of being able to execute it, they are better off using all 27 outs allotted them.

After all it was two long balls that kept them in the game.

To start winning we need to find some players who can hit. Clark has done nothing but hit all year, same with Carlos Lee. Hall provided offense again, as did Overbay. There are 4 hitters, the other 5 need to step up. The ones we are paying the most money, JenKKins and Miller need to start earning it and Hardy needs to be sent down. Oh yeah, and Branyan needs to finish his little rehab stint and get his but back to Milwaukee. I don't know if it will help, but we need to find someone to play over Jenkins and Magruder. If it isnt Hart or Cruz, that's fine, make a trade. We cant just give up. Trade for a RH corner OF. Someone who can hit .260 w/ 22 Hrs and 75 RBIs in a full season. God knows that isnt Jenkins and would be a HUGE boost to the lineup.
