This has got to be one of the most exciting games the Crew has played all season. Not even close to the best, but it's pretty darn exciting.

 

I find it odd that DeJean was brought in for the tenth and troubling that he struggled again. Hopefully that was just a bump in the road, and his previous outing is more indicative of his ability.

 

Podsednik got a nice plug on Baseball Tonight... they didn't really talk about him, but rather how speedy players sometimes develop later. Bobby V also asked Gammons if a trade for Sexson was possible and Gammons said yes.

Mike DeJean has blown way too many saves this season. How many saves has he converted this season? I don't think his ratio is not that good.

The Brewers need to give Leo Estrella a chance to close games and have Danny Kolb set him up. But DeJean really gets on my nerves. He gives everyone heart attacks when he is on the mound. Too many runners on base.

Your mastery of the English language astounds me. DeJean is obviously struggling but everyone goes through rough spells... he hasn't gotten enough work, he's pitching entirely in high-pressure situations, and he has given up some big hits.

 

And really, what do you propose we do? Release him? So maybe we win 65 games instead of 70... yeah, that sucks, but is it worth giving up on DeJean to get those additional wins? I don't think so. And as for the "last four outings" comment, I can find a heck of a lot more 4 (or more) game stretches wherein he accumulated saves or scoreless innings. Yes, he has struggled lately... and he hasn't been on his game all year, most likely. But we're still only through 1/2 a season... keep that in mind.

 

And try capitalizing, punctuating, and spell-checking your posts, please. They are difficult to read.

PS: Estrella hasn't started a game since 1999. I don't think moving our most successful reliever to the rotation is a very good idea.
