Man, Kolb is just plain awesome. Groundball after groundball.

BREWERS WIN!!!

I love watching Ben Sheets get interviewed. He really tries hard to listen and to formulate his thoughts into words. It doesn't always work out, but he's doing his best and he's gotten a lot better. That's good to see... it's almost like his communication skills are improving right along with his pitching skills.

This was a really, really nice win. Eleven hits, lots of baserunners, and great pitching. All of you Minnesotan Brewers fans should have fun tonight and tomorrow... enjoy it!

It was good to see Sheets throwing a few changeups - he really fooled the hitter on a few of them. I know he's become an ace, but developing that pitch will only better himself.

The good news: The rewers were good enough to beat the Twins and the umps. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Way to go, Podzilla. Do me a fa vor... stay ticked off.

I just spent half an hour trying to convince some Twins fans that their team would finish no better than fourth in the NL Central.

Me: "Which teams in the NL Central could the Twins beat straight out?"

Them: "Uh, the Pirates... the Brewers..., maybe the Reds"

Me: "Don't the Twins match up pretty poorly against the Brewers?"

Them: "Well, yah, but the Twins could win a lot of other games against divisional opponents."

Me: "The Pirates?"

Them: "Er, yah?"

I didn't jinx Danny after Wednesday night, so this post will be an ongoing point of reference:

Dan Kolb pitched the ninth inning Friday for his 20th save. Kolb hasn't allowed an extra-base hit in 31 games and hasn't allowed a homerun in 51 games.

With all the Twins garb in the stands, I expect some Brewers attire in the stands at the Metrodome next weekend. I'll be there on Saturday night with a Brewers hat and jersey cheering on the Crew.

Have fun with that. They've got some real beauties for fans up there. I went to a Brewers series two years ago and just couldn't believe some of the stupidity coming out of their traps. I don't know, maybe we come across that way to the opposition as well, but they were not very baseball smart and this carried over with different people over 3 days. To each his own I guess....

"His whole life is a fantasy camp. People should plunk down $2000 to live like him for a week. Sleep, do nothing, fall ass-backwards into money, mooch food off your neighbors and have sex without dating... THAT'S a fantasy camp."

I can't get over the transformation of Dan Kolb. He went from a guy that could ONLY throw the heater, to a guy who induces groundballs better than any pitcher in the league. I knew you guys were concerned by the few K's he's had but I care not! He SHOULD be the guy they bring in with the bases loaded and one out, because every pitch is a double play ready to happen.

Simply amazing.

Just got back from the game and a few thoughts. The umps were terrible tonight, it was unbelievable. There were quite a few Twins fans there but going up 2-0 in the first shut them up the entire game. Finally, Sheets is solid again and should have gotten a hit or maybe even two! (great twins D)

Just got back from Milwaukee and another happy night at the park. Obviously I didn't see the TV feed, but it did not feel like Miller Park was overrun with Twins fans. The terrace level is where a lot of opposing fans wind up (believe me, I've experienced it often enough) and I just didn't notice a lot of obvious Minnesotans there.

No doubt the Brewers' early lead helped keep them quieter. And it's possible that when I think 'overrun', I think of Cub Nation. (Insert that noise Sideshow Bob makes when the rake he steps on slams into his face.)

I had to applaud that Twins defense on multiple occasions. I'd rather they saved it for another series, but those were some quality plays. I'd rather be robbed by quality defense than by an umpire's questionable call.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
