I want to say a couple of things here.

 

#1- The first batter of the game: he was called out on a 1-2 count. If you were watching the Fox Sports broadcast, you could see DD shake his head in amazement and Moeller look at both the 1st and 3rd base umps like, "Aren't you guys gonna call him back up for the last strike?"

 

#2- Gumby: I too was wondering what was up with that speech. Maybe nerves? He looked a little bit like Michael J. Fox, maybe he has some sort of disease? I am not trying to poke fun here. It sounded like his speech wasn't slurred, so I didn't think he was drunk or anything. Either way, it wa a great night. I hope he's o.k.

He was called out on three straight strikes. If you watch the umpire, he pulled his arm out each time. Daron and Bill were screwing the count up a few times yesterday and FSN was screwy as well. The ump just had a huge strike zone. That is all.

Why is it that the Crew seems to be able to constantly put together a very good, cheap bullpen? We could trade away Kolb or Viz and STILL be OK.

 

Something was definetely up with Gumby.

They need a new person to work the on screen stats, it's getting very irritating. Takes too long to post balls and strikes, and sometimes it's wrong. Same thing with baserunners. How hard can it be?

I don't know how much FSN normally screws up in WI, but the MN version of it makes a lot of little mistakes like that.

 

As for last night, Uecker was just as confused as anyone. He thought the first pitch was called a ball, too.
