6/11/2004 - Brewers (Davis) vs. Houston (Redding)

Posted

The Brewers look to bounce back after a tough loss in Anaheim last night. The Brewers and Astros will be the only NL series going on this weekend as the other 28 teams continue interleague action.

So let me get this right....we are facing the Astros, yet we don't see Pettitte, Clemens, and--most importantly--Wade Miller. Wow. I'm feeling surprisingly good about this series.

I'd rather face Pettite than Oswalt.

Works out well that Oswalt doesn't square off with either Sheets and Davis...improves their chances

I love that feeling where you're sitting at work and it dawns on you that you have no plans that evening and hey look, the Brewers are in town. See you there. Go Crew!

Does anyone know who is pitching tomorrow? I am not thrilled that the game I am going to Oswalt is pitching, but hey maybe they have a chance? Depends who is pitching.

Bill Hall hitting 5th? That's downright forward thinking.

Also, I don't know how to feel about being able to watch the game and know that I won't be a walking zombie tomorrow if the game goes to extra innings.

Trade Ben Grieve to an AL team fast. He really should be a DH. That play was ugly.

AJAY, what happened? I just got home

Did You Know?

Junior Spivey attended the same Community College, Cowley County (in Arkansas City, KS), as Brewers' 2003 Draft Choice and recently-signed DFE catcher Clay Blevins. Milwaukee's third-round selection in this year's June Draft, Josh Wahpepah, also hails from Cowley County CC, as does forty-fifth found pick Deik Scram.

Anyone else notice that Lyle's head is the key to his approach? When he keeps it on the ball, he drives it. When he pulls it off, he often strikes out (seems on stuff away)

Since no one else mentioned it.......

I'm going to take tonight's game thread (mostly) off... you'll have to pick up the slack, RoCo.

Go team.

I would have mentioned it, but I was downstairs eating dinner. Anyway, it is nice to see Moeller hit the ball the other way.

I am worried about Doug Davis' pitch count. He seems to be laboring to get guys out.

Gotta say, Hall plays a pretty nice 3b. I'm not saying he, Ginter, or Helms is better than the other, as they all have benefits, but Hall's looking darn good.
