Why are you thinking of bringing in Kieshnick?

Probably because he was about to strike out two in a row to put out the fire.

Well sure Kinney put in a good start, but did he get the win? I don't think so! He just doesn't have the Franklinatude to allow the Brewers to score more runs than the Cardinals.

Who kidnapped Brooks Kieschnick? Why is Doug Jones out there?

That was some serious movement on those pitches.

Just wanted to give a shout out to my boy Matt Kinney after a great start tonight. Way to go!! I may be alone here, but I still think he will be a solid #2-3 before long.

Ughh, Yost Bennet not a good hitter. Already caught 9 innings after 15 yesterday---pull him

PH for Brooks?!!!? With Helms?!!!??!?

0 for 2 there, endaround.

BREWERS WIN !!!

The hometown boy comes through !!

Kinney and Kieschnick saved the staff tonight.

Bruce K. with the win, and he earned it tonight, striking out two critical batters with men at the corners. It's pretty darn hilarious seeing a guy like that continue to have success at the Major League level. I hate to say it, but I think the ole' nugget miner found himself a doozy.

Bennett hit into a DP--lucky the game didn't end there.

Just because Helms got a hit doesn't mean it wasn't stupid. Yost burned a player for no reason in a game that easily could have gone extra innings.

So he was supposed to let Brooks face a LHP with a righty bat on the bench? What?

Well, there were a couple questionable decisions in this game but I'm not going to harp on them. This was a very memorable game. Kinney did well, Kieschnick (sp) was amazing, and the last at bat by Counsell actually made me smile.

I know I shouldn't be complaining because it ended well, but I don't understand Yost's thinking at the end of the game. Clark walks, and Yost decided not to PH for Bennett, who hasn't had a hit in his last 13 plate appearances. Bennett hits into a fielders choice, so he decideds to PH Helms for Kieschnick. Kieschnick singles Bennett to second, and he takes Bennett out for Durrington. I don't understand why you let Bennett hit in that situation...the only reason is if you don't want to be left with only one option at C, but then why do you pinch run for him? Why not PH Helms for Bennett, and let Kieschnick hit (or then PH Hall or Durrington). If my thinking is way off let me know and I will stop applying for major league manager jobs, but it seems awfully stupid to me. Again, we won so I am not too pissed, but I was yelling at my TV at the time!

The baseball death of Brooks Kieschnick has been exaggerated, to say the least.

HR one day, a gutty, almost perfect relief outing the next. Anyone who says this guy isn't a major leaguer simply doesn't understand the game.

Wow if you close your eyes and swing you'll eventually hit the ball. If you hit the ball enough you might get a hit.

9-9 on April 23rd.....

Still looking for these positive posts that I'm supposed to be missing.....

I gotta say, I've liked the guy since he got brought up last year. I never understood why he was so maligned by so many. He fills a role, albeit a small one, and tonight was a perfect example of it.

I hate the PR in most all circumstances, but in that case, you gotta PR for the old, slow C.

Usually, a PR is only worth a split second, but I have to believe Durrington is a second faster than Gary over 55 yards. A second is an eternity on a throw home on a base hit to the OF.
